Academic Guiding Principles Provide students the opportunity to obtain a 21st century polytechnic education; Avoid duplication of programs and course offerings; Provide high-need programs leading to employment after graduation; and Provide for the economic viability of the RELLIS campus and be of financial benefit to the offering institutions.

RELLIS Embraces 60x30TX By 2030, at least 60 percent of Texans aged 25-34 have a degree or certificate; By 2030, at least 550,000 students in that year will complete a certificate, associate, bachelor s or master s [degree] from an institution of higher education in Texas; By 2030, all graduates from Texas public institutions of higher education will have completed programs with identified marketable skills; and By 2030, undergraduate student loan debt will not exceed 60 percent of firstyear wages for graduates of Texas public institutions.
Governance Committee Academic Steering Committee is charged to: Long-Term Guide the Gateway Education Center Evaluate proposed training and degree programs; Find opportunities supporting workforce development. Short Term Identify support services that need to be provided at RELLIS; Develop criteria for evaluating proposed programs; and Review the financial model for RELLIS academics
External Academic Advisory Council The Advisory Council is charged to provide advice and recommendations regarding: Programs to support the education and training needs looking ten years into the future; Opportunities for applied research and development collaboration among the partners; and Sources of philanthropic support for the academic initiatives at RELLIS, and the students studying there.
Program Offering Considerations To be offered, a program must: Be desired by students; Provide skills needed by employers; and Be financially viable for RELLIS and the institution.
