We allow approx 30 min per applicants interview. Preparation for interview. Please read carefully the following information and instructions, which are intended to help you with your interview. During the weeks and days before your interview, please make sure that you know what is happening in the world, for example: What stories are leading the sports news bulletins on TV and Radio. Why do you think they are important? What has caught your eye on social media about sport? Who tells the best stories on social media? What sports teams do we have in Northampton and who are our best-known sports stars? Please bring with you anything you have already published, either a blog link or a video (if you have done anything yet). Interview process. We know that an interview can be a daunting experience. We make allowances for nerves and we endeavor to make the process as enjoyable as possible. The interview will give you an opportunity to explore how the course can help you. It will also give us the chance to know you better and provide you with early guidance in how to successfully start the course. The interview day will begin with an overview of the BA (Hons) Multimedia Sports Journalism course structure. You will get the chance to speak to one of the academics, ask questions you may have about the course and how it can help your future career and academic prospects. We may

also run a group activity with other students applying to see how you develop group skills (dependent on the number of applicants attending on the day). The group activity will allow you to meet other applicants for the Multimedia Sports Journalism course and will include working with others to choose which stories work best on which page, testing your team working skills. Your interview will include an opportunity to present in front of the camera and read a script in the radio studio. During your interview you will be asked to talk us through why you want to study Multimedia Sports Journalism and discuss your aspirations beyond graduation. The interview process usually lasts approximately 20 minutes. Please also note that it is not possible for individual tutors or Programme Leader to provide you with an individual assessment of your application, either verbally or in writing. Waterside Campus tour. A free bus will take you to the site of our new Waterside Campus. The campus is still under construction, but there is a public footpath which you can stroll along and take a look at developments. You'll also be able to take a look around one of the completed buildings provided that we have access to it on the day. Staff will be on hand to answer your questions. Parents and guests are welcome to join this tour, however, applicants will take priority. Requests for reasonable adjustment. It is the policy of the University of Northampton that candidates should not be prejudiced as a result of any disability and reasonable adjustments will be made to mitigate unfair discrimination. Therefore, all candidates with disabilities are encouraged to identify and/or request support for actual or potential circumstances in advance. Please contact admissions2018@northampton.ac.uk. Please note you will be required to provide suitable medical evidence that confirms the nature of your condition and the need for adjustment. Get in touch.
