COURSE OPTIONS COURSES LANGUAGE OF INSTRUCTION US CREDITS INSTRUCTION HOURS Intensive Spanish Language Program Spanish 0 45 This Intensive Spanish Program is a 45 hour, 3 hours a day, class ideal for students that are planning to study the semester of August-December 2017 at Tecnológico de Monterrey. The program is intended to improve the student s language skills before the beginning of the semester so they are able to better cope with their semester classes. The program is also open to independent students wanting to improve their language proficiency. CULTURAL ACTIVITIES During your stay in Monterrey you will have the chance to learn more about Mexican culture and traditions through extracurricular activities and visits to: Cola de Caballo Waterfalls and Villa de Santiago historic town Garcia s Caves Trip to the town of Bustamante - Includes a visit to a mezcal factory, Bustamante s Caverns, a traditional bakery and the Municipal Museum
ORIENTATION SESSION Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Monterrey will give a welcome orientation session. During the orientation session, different practical topics will be exposed: City guide, safety issues, emergencies and medical services, sightseeing, shopping, restaurants, campus regulations, program generalities, etc. HOUSING Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Monterrey offers the opportunity to live, for a special cost, at an apartment located at a 5 minuts walking distance from the campus. HOUSING Apartment DESCRIPTION A two bedroom off-campus apartment, sharing a room with another student. HEALTH INSURANCE All students applying as independent students must buy the insurance requested by Tecnológico de Monterrey-Campus Monterrey. For more information about the insurance please visit: http://goo.gl/aj9zag All exchange students must provide evidence of holding a valid health insurance policy with comprehensive coverage in the host country for the duration of the academic period in which the student will be involved. If the student s insurance doesn t include the coverage required by Tecnológico de Monterre-Campus Monterrey, students will be obligated to purchase the health insurance requested above. Paying by an international transfer of money can only be made in US Dollars and not in pesos. Mexican pesos can only be paid once you are in Mexico. The health insurance cost applies only if exchange students medical insurance does not meet the required coverage. Independent students will have to buy Tec de Monterrey s health insurance. More information about required coverage can be found at the international student handbook, which will be sent after your admission.
PROGRAM COSTS The program fee includes: 3 hours a day class Monday through Friday On-line Spanish placement test (one per student) Orientation Session ID Card Welcome kit Access to all university facilities (gym, swimming pool, computer labs, library, sports center, etc) Student advisors Official letter of completion with the final grade. The program fee does not include: Local Transportation Accomodation Personal expenses Meals Cultural visits Any other incidental costs PAYMENT Before arrival, students should pay: Full program fee All other expenses should be consider by the student, but not paid to Tecnológico de Monterrey.
