24 Pronunciation in Context Course CRICOS Code: 059969M Ensuring people understand you is the most important part of learning any language, and perhaps the most difficult. Replicating the sounds required by the English language often means learning new ways of using your facial muscles, your breathing and your voice. It also means changing the way you think about language learning. 25 Fluency in speech relies greatly on the confidence in knowing you are reproducing sounds, tones, intonation and the other essential elements of speech. It is often said if you hear it, you can say it. Fluency in listening enables you to draw language from your environment and gain the ability to replicate it in natural conversations with English speakers. Learning English means communicating with English speakers by talking, listening, reading and writing. Often the most important and challenging skills are talking and listening, as we use these every day in many different situations. Knowing many English words and using good grammar isn t enough - people need to understand what you are saying, and you need to understand them. ROXANA ENE DIRECTOR OF STUDIES WHY STUDY PRONUNCIATION IN CONTEXT Exclusive ClearSpeak Method designed by a speech pathologist and incorporated into the course by a Greenwich English College teacher. ClearSpeak Method uses hearing, sight and touch in practical exercises, using catchy, memorable words for sounds. Learn techniques for accent and native language habit reduction, and gain confidence in natural speech through role plays and group work. Build personal confidence through weekly presentations, and develop with the support of personalised feedback. Improve your listening skills for a better understanding of native speakers and the environment you are living in.
