Treasurers Monthly Report for August 2016 Number of members present 27 Raffle made 60.00 Tea Bar made 7.50 New members 0 The Club s Website We have been contacted by a relative of a past member - Cyril Mann, below is the message Hi, I hope you can help me with any information you may have in your history files. Reading the article about your Club in C&AB s brought back memories of my youth when I lived in Dagenham then Hornchurch. My father was a member up to 1958 showing mostly budgerigars but we had canaries and British as well. This is a long shot but do you have any membership lists, catalogues or anything else that may have my Dad s name included? Cyril Mann then living at 2 Ross Ave Dagenham / Becontree Heath. We moved to Hornchurch from where I began my career in birdkeeping. I showed at your CBS and I remember the East Ham CBS shows to be the biggest around then in the 70s. My dad passed away in 1972 and he had a large aviary of canaries and British which gave him great enjoyment. I moved up here to Cambridgeshire in 1980 and have specialized in Zebra Finches, you may see my articles in Cage Birds. So, that early grounding in East London has given me a wonderful life in aviculture. No doubt like my clubs you don't get the young joining the fancy now days which is so different from the good old days. Thank you in advance for your trouble, best regards and continual success with you club. Larry Mann Does anyone remember Cyril? If so, please let me know so I can pass the information on.
