How to navigate around the preparation course and practice test Once your have logged into the platform, you will see the home page of the preparation course and the practice test.
To go into your course, click on the IELTS preparation course or the practice test depending what you want to do. You will see the contents page of the course or the practice test and the navigation column on the left.
In the navigation column you will the different sections of the course. Click on the section you want to do.
The section will open and you will see the different exercises on different tabs. To finish a session, click on log out. To view the support documents click on My documents: 3. How to view your progress On the homepage you can view your progress by looking at your exercise scores.
You can see your exercise scores by click on the icon: 4. Other tools and resources To see what resources are available in your course, click on My Resources: The following tools and resources are available. (See more details below.)
Text to Speech The Text to Speech tool allows you to listen to any text you write into the text box. Record yourself On each page of the course you have access to the "Record yourself" tool, which allows you to record yourself and save these files. This tool is designed to help you to improve your pronunciation. You can listen to yourself and compare your recording to the original.
Dictionary The dictionary is an online dictionary which allows you to translate words from English to other languages on the list. Grammar reference The Grammar reference opens up a level-specific Grammar Reference which you can use at any time.
Business centre The business centre contains useful information for students who need to use English in a business context. Resources include templates for different types of texts, language and tips. Additional Resources In "Additional Resources" you can find links to useful listening and video material as well as online reading material suitable for language learners. Text to speech / Translate into any language You can also select any text on the page and listen to it or translate it into any language: Interactive English Interactive English is a monthly Net Languages publication available at three levels: Basic, Intermediate and Advanced. Each issue contains an interesting news text, vocabulary and
language exercises, and discussion tasks. You can listen to native speakers talking about the topic (also available as a podcast), and you can access previous issues. Interactive English is mobile friendly and available as an app for Android and IOS smartphones. Forums You can use the Forums to contact other students. Pronunciation The "Pronunciation" link opens up the phonemic chart. You can click on each phoneme to hear the sound of the phoneme in isolation as well as in a word.
