Estimated time 45 min Objectives - Identify, explore, and review career opportunities within the Information Technology Cluster - Compare the different levels of education for IT careers in which students have a personal interest - Research the steps that are required to participate in a variety of career and educational opportunities. Materials/Equipment/Handouts Needed - Career Scavenger Hunt handout - Computers with Internet access - A to Z Activity Introduction/Engage - Ask students if they have ever participated in a scavenger hunt; ask a few students to share their experiences - Go over the requirements and directions for this Career Scavenger Hunt activity - Students will each choose three preferred careers for the activity Activities - Students will complete the Career Scavenger Hunt - Students may conduct their research via the internet or library resources - Debrief and share results Lesson Closure - Have a Q&A time near the end of the lesson to review different aspects of the Information Technology career cluster - Discuss the relationship between educational achievement and career success; how are these two concepts related?
