APPLICATION Application procedure Students must be nominated by those responsible for study abroad at the university of origin. ACADEMIC INFORMATION Language of instruction Spanish is the language of instruction (we offer only a few courses in English). Bachelor Master Language Proficiency Spanish for Foreigners Course (EFE) We expect the home institution to decide on the language proficiency of each participant, as we understand that this is also an intercultural experience of relevance for the institution. International Health Insurance LEGAL DOCUMENTS All incoming students or visitors must bring a health insurance of international coverage for the period of their stay. Student visa Students who come to study two semesters or more than 180 days at Javeriana Cali must obtain a student visa at the Colombian consulate or embassy in their country of origin. Javeriana Cali will send the letter of admission and a legal document required for the visa procedure. Students who come to study in Colombia for only a semester or a period less than 180 days do not require a student visa. These students must show their letter of admission to the immigration officer at the airport to receive the PIP2 permit. This permit must be renewed after 90 days and costs approx. $ 80,000 COP. NOTA: Medical students must always obtain a student visa. Foreigner ID Students who enter with a student visa must obtain a foreigner ID. This document must be processed within the first 15 days after entering the country. This procedure can be realized at the Immigration Office in Cali and has a cost of $ 162,000 COP. http://www.migracioncolombia.gov.co/index.php/tramites/cedula-deextranjeria Housing SERVICES Javeriana Cali does not have student accommodations therefore there are two options for housing in the city of Cali. - A room in a Colombian family - A shared apartment or studio The International Affairs Office will send a list with different housing options to the students so that they can contact the families and apartment owners directly before arriving to Cali. Costs range from $350.000 to $500.000 Colombian pesos.
Airport pick-up The International Affairs Office offers an airport pick up service to international students. To access this service the student must fill in a form of arrival with the following information: Date of arrival Time of arrival Airline Flight number Other services offered by the International Affairs Office The International Affairs Office offers all the support related to student mobility. We help students before and during their international experience at Javeriana Cali with: University services available for International Students Procedures for entry permits or student visa Academic guidance and counseling on campus Extracurricular activities: sports, voluntary work, cultural activities Introduction activities Health and well-being. All day there is a doctor available on campus. There is no fee for these services. Risk insurance: Once the student is registered at the university, he/she will receive a risk insurance covering some specific events related to academic activities on and off campus. Sports center (CDL). Student can play sports at the sports center. The center offers classes of tennis, basketball, swimming, soccer, volleyball, fitness, yoga, dance, aerorumba, and there is also a gym.
