B.Voc programme (Subject: Tourism Management/ Travel & Tourism Management/ Hospitality Management) ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION 1. For the Posts of Assistant Professor in Convergent Journalism, Economics, Education (Discipline : Psychology/Education), English, Law, Mathematics, Political Science, Tourism Studies, Urdu, Religious Studies, Animal Science (Zoology), Biotechnology, Physics, Chemistry, Plant Science (Botany) & Medical Technology (Except for the Departments of Pharmacy, Information Technology, Teacher Education, Physical Education & B.Voc Programme): i) Master s degree in the relevant or allied discipline with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade of B in the seven-point scale of UGC from a recognized University. ii) Should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC. Those candidates, who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SLET/SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Lectureship held 1
prior to 1st June 2002, are exempted from the requirement of NET. For SLET/SET held from 1st June, 2002 onwards, only those candidates are eligible who have qualified J&K State Eligibility Test (SET) for Lectureship. Candidates with Ph. D. Degree awarded in accordance with the University Grants condition of NET/SLET/SET. Such candidates are required to submit a certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure I) from the concerned University to the effect that their Ph.D degree is compliant of UGC (Minimum standards and procedure for awards of M.Phil/Ph.D degree) Regulation 2009. 2. For the Posts of Assistant Professor in Teacher Education (Subject: History/Civics/ Geography) i) A Master s Degree in History /Civics/ Geography and M. Ed. each with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed), ii) Should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) in Education or relevant School subject conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC. Those candidates, who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SLET/SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Lectureship held prior to 1st June 2002, are exempted from the requirement of NET. For SLET/SET held from 1st June, 2002 onwards, only those candidates are eligible who have qualified J&K State Eligibility Test (SET) for Lectureship. Candidates with Ph. D. Degree (Education or relevant School subject) awarded in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET. Such candidates are required to submit a certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure I) from the concerned University to the effect that their Ph.D degree is compliant of UGC (Minimum standards and procedure for awards of M.Phil/Ph.D degree) Regulation 2009. fulfilment of conditions mentioned in (Annexure II) 2
3. For the Posts of Assistant Professor in Department of Information Technology i) B.E/B.Tech. and M.Tech. in Information Technology or Computer Science. M.Tech with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade of B in the seven-point scale of UGC from a recognized University. ii) Should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC. Those candidates, who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SLET/SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Lectureship held prior to 1st June 2002, are exempted from the requirement of NET. For SLET/SET held from 1st June, 2002 onwards, only those candidates are eligible who have qualified J&K State Eligibility Test (SET) for Lectureship. Candidates with Ph. D. For the Posts of Assistant Professor in Department of Pharmacy to A. Essential: 1. A basic degree in pharmacy (B.Pharm.). 2. Registration as a pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948, as amended from time time, including any succeeding enactments. 3. First Class Master s Degree in appropriate branch of specialization in Pharmacy. B. Desirable: 1. Teaching, research industrial and / or professional experience in a reputed organization; 2. Papers presented at Conferences and / or in refereed journals. For avoidance of doubt, it is hereby clarified that: 1. If Class or Division is not declared at the Bachelor s or Master s Degree levels, an aggregate of >=60% or equivalent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is to be considered as equivalent to First Class. 2. In respect of CGPA awarded to the candidates on a 10-Point Scale, the Table of equivalence shall be provided by the university concerned followed for determining the Class obtained by them as per (1) cited above. 3

For the Posts of Assistant Professor in Department of Physical Education (a) A Masters Degree in Physical Education with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed).. (b) The candidate must have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC. Those candidates, who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SLET/SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Lectureship held prior to 1st June 2002, are exempted from the requirement of NET. For SLET/SET held from 1st June, 2002 onwards, only those candidates are eligible who have qualified J&K State Eligibility Test (SET) for Lectureship. (c) Candidates with Ph. D. Those candidates, who have cleared the State Eligibility Test (SLET/SET) accredited by UGC for eligibility for Lectureship held prior to 1st June 2002, are exempted from the requirement of NET. Notes- : 1. Candidates having PG in the relevant subjects without NET/SLET/ Ph.D can also apply. However, they shall be appointed on a lower salary to be decided by the University. 2. NET/SLET/SET shall, however, not be required in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted. GENERAL CONDITIONS 1. The engagement to the post advertised is purely on contract basis and the selected candidates will not have any claim for the permanent appointment. 2. The number of vacancies in each subject shall be decided by the University separately. 3. The application fee shall be kept as Rs. 200 (Rs 100 for SC, ST, PwD). 4. Short listing of the applicants, if necessary, shall be made on the basis of higher academic qualification or merit and/or experience or any other means decided by the University. 5. The engagement to the post will be made on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the interview and/or any other parameter as deemed fit by the Interview/Selection Committee constituted for the purpose. 6. The University reserves the right not to fill up all/any of the posts advertised if the circumstances so warrant. 7. The engagement shall be for a period of three months or till the alternative arrangements are made, whichever is earlier. 8. No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for attending the interview. 9. Relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) will be provided at the Master s/bachelors level in the case of SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped candidates and to those Ph.D. degree holders, who have passed their Master s Degree prior to 19th September, 1991. 10. Applications not accompanied by necessary supporting documents, self attested copies of degree certificates/ marks sheets/experience certificate/category certificate (if applicable) issued by the competent authority, shall be rejected summarily. 11. Candidates with foreign degrees shall be required to enclose Association of Indian Universities (AIU) equivalence certificate with their application form without which application/s can t be considered. 12. Last date for submission of forms is 27 th July, 2017. The University shall not be responsible for any postal delay. HOW TO APPLY?
