Congratulations Ali Brady, who will be acting Principal for Term 2. Ali has been a member of the Leadership Team for a number of years as Senior Teacher and most recently as Assistant Principal. She was also Assistant Principal at Malak Primary last semester. Ali is a passionate educator who has high expectations for all staff and students to be the best that they can. We welcome back Sarah Corry as acting Assistant Principal for next term. Sarah has previously worked at our school for many years in a variety of roles from class teacher to specialist roles. Sarah was a very popular PE teacher and has great knowledge of our school community. She has been a Senior Teacher at Henbury School for the past four years and will bring many new ideas to our school. HARMONY DAY CELEBRATIONS Thank you to the many parents, families, friends and presenters that helped our school community celebrate Harmony Day across the school. There were numerous cooking, art and craft, gardening, dancing, games and challenges happening across the school. What a wonderful community celebration! Visitors commented on the great vibe across the school amongst students, staff and families. Well done everyone you rock! MEMORIAL GARDEN OPENING Harmony Day was the perfect opportunity to open our Memorial Garden! Thank you to attending dignitaries and guests who attended the event, especially the artist Janie Andrews and Ironbark Aboriginal Corporation Representatives, Brad, Mick, Pancho and Trudi. The Hon Kezia Purick MLA for Goyder and the Hon Gerry Wood MLA for Nelson, her Honor Maree Bredhauer the Mayor of Litchfield, Christina Pastrikos PARR office representative, Barb Doukas coordinator of the project and Claire Hilton our School Council Chairperson as well as Chrissy Jenner and Lisa James from the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet Indigenous Affairs Group all enjoyed the opening of the Memorial Garden. OUR PARRS NETBALL TEAM Miss Hinds and Mrs Shields were so proud of the Netball teams. They showed great teamwork and sportsmanship throughout the whole day! The coordinator of the competition was extremely impressed. Many thanks Naomi Crane the NT Manager of the Teachers Mutual Bank. Taminmin College will be hosting a ThinkUKnow presentation on Wednesday 5 th April at 6pm and all parents, carers and teachers are encouraged to attend. The session runs for approximately 45minutes with question time at the end. Our World Challenge students will be fundraising with a BBQ and drinks available to purchase.
