Art. Purpose of the call and general regulations This call regulates the procedure for enrolment in the first year of the Economics and management curriculum of the Ca' Foscari first cycle degree programme in Economia aziendale - Economics and management for AY 2014/15 Personal information provided by candidates will be processed, on paper or in electronic form, in compliance with current legislation (Italian Legislativee Decree 196/2003). Candidates shall be guaranteed access to the records concerned, in accordance with Italian Law 241/1990 and subsequent amendments. Art. Available places 9 May 2014 Spring Selection 30 places are available in the spring selection for Italian, EU and non-eu students resident in Italy. A total number of 180 places are available for candidates enrolling in the first year of the Economics and management curriculum of the First Cycle Degree Programme in Economia aziendale - Economics and management. 10 of thesee places are reserved for non-eu students resident abroad meeting the requirements laid down in the M.I.U..R. guidelines (Reference no. 1291 of 16 May 2008). 4. Places not allocated in the spring selection will be made available for the summer selection taking place on 25 August 2014. 5. Non-EU students resident abroad meeting the requirements laid down in the M.I.U.R. guidelines (Reference no. 1291 of 16 May 2008) may only apply for the summer selection taking place on 25 August 2014. Art. Admission requirements To be admitted to the selection procedure, studentss must have one of the following qualifications: five-year secondary school certificate, including officially recognised foreign language secondary schools; teachers training college certificate or art school certificatee with additional one-year course; candidates who have not attended the additional foundation year may still apply although: in case of enrolment, they may have Educational Debits, which must be fulfilled in compliance with the procedures laid down for the degree programme concerned by the end of the first year, along with any Additional Learning Requirements that may have accrued following assessment of their skills; vocational secondary school certificate gained according to Law 27/10/1969 no. 754; applied art secondary school certificate gained at a State Art School; GCE diplomas are valid only where applicants prove they have passed 6 different subjects, 3 of which must be advanced, (A level) and which relate directly to the program requested. secondary school-leaving qualification taken abroad provided it is considered equivalent to the Italian qualification required for enrolment purposes. Students enrolled in their final year of upper secondary school and who plan to take their qualification in the 2013/2014 school year may also participate in the spring selection. Students wishing to enrol must have certified English proficiency at Level B2 or above. Art. 4. Admission procedure After checking that you have correctly completed alll the stages in the on-line pre-enrolment procedure you must pay the 26 pre-enrolment fee by 12 noon on 26 April 2014. Applications submitted after the deadlinee or failing to comply with the procedures laid down here will not be taken into consideration. 4. Online pre-enrolment a) Pre-enrolment can be carried out online on the university website from 17 March 2014 to 12 noon on 29 April 2014. The online procedure involves two stages: Registration on the university website (www.unive.it/registrazione) by entering your personal data, residence, and, eventually, domicile. After completing the registration procedure, you willl be given a user name and password that will give you accesss to your Personal Area to complete the next stage of enrolment; Enrolment in the admission test, by going to the Personal Area in www.unive.it and following this page sequence: Online Student Services - ESSE3 > Admission test. During the course of this procedure, candidates must: o enter subject scores as described in point 4.2 below; o enter their SAT Math or GMAT Quantitative test score (if applicable); o press the button to pay their pre-enrolment fee (seee point 4.3); o print their admission test receipt. You must print your pre-enrolment receipt to complete the pre-enrolment procedure. b) After you have completed the online procedure, an email will be sent to the email address you entered during the registration stage to confirm that enrolment in the test has been carried out properly. c) Once the pre-enrolment procedure has been completed, you can no longer make any changes to your educational background. 2

d) If you encounter difficulties during the pre-enrolment procedure, just send an email asking for help to immatricolazioni@unive.it. 4. Subject scores required for the online pre-enrolment procedure a) In order to be assessed for the shortlist (see Art. 7), candidates must enter the scores obtained during their fourth year of high school (or equivalent subjects in terms of contents): history; maths; foreign language (if you have studied more than one foreign language, you are advised to enter the language with the highest score); two subjects of your choice from the other subjects studied, with the exception of Physical Education, Religion, Behaviour; b) This information must also be entered by candidates, who have already taken their high school qualifications). c) Candidates who attended their fourth year of high school abroad and are enrolled in their fifth year of high school or who have a high school certificate and subject grades that are not ranked from one to ten should ask their high school to convert their grades into the decimal system. d) If you did not take the subjects requested by the call for applications in your fourth year of high school, you should complete these fields of the questionnaire with equivalent subjects. The Assessment Committee will establish the criteria and procedures to be used to evaluate subjects and scores that do not meet the above requirements. 4. Pre-enrolment fee a) The payment function will be activated once you have completed the online pre-enrolment procedure: you will see two buttons allowing you to choose your preferred payment method. b) The 26 pre-enrolment fee must be paid online after you have completed the online pre-enrolment procedure (see point a) above): using a Visa or Master Card; using the M.O.D code (MAV on demand) that appears when you click on the Paga con MAV button: just give this code to the bank clerk in any Italian bank to make this payment. Remember to ask the bank clerk for your payment receipt. c) The payment receipt must be handed in on the day of the admission test (see Art. 6, point 2 below). d) The above payment methods only are accepted. e) Payment of the pre-enrolment fee entitles you to participate in the spring selections for the other degree programmes in the economic area of Ca' Foscari University, which are all regulated by a call for applications. f) Pre-enrolment fees will not be refunded for any reason whatsoever. 4.4. Accommodations for candidates with disabilities or candidates with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) a) The test held by the University will take into account the individual needs of disabled candidates in compliance with Italian Law No. 104 of 1992 and subsequent amendments. b) Candidates with disabilities or SLD wishing to have special test arrangements should make their request in advance. In particular: candidates with disabilities may take the admission test using the necessary accommodations and with additional test time in relation to their specific disability; candidates with SLD (see Italian law No.170/2010) must submit the necessary certification issued within 3 years of the test by National Health Service facilities or by specialists or facilities officially recognised by the National Health Service. Candidates have a 30% extended time allowance to take the admission test. In cases of certified severe disability further accommodations may be made to ensure that all candidates have equal opportunities in taking tests.c) Candidates must send their request in writing, enclosing relevant certification, to the Disabled Students Service at the Guidance and Useful Information Department (Tel. 041 234 7961, Fax 041 234 8210, E-mail disabilita@unive.it) by 24 April 2014. Art. 5. Admission test 5. Validity of the test a) This admission test is only valid for admission to the Economics and management curriculum. b) Candidates completing pre-enrolment for both curricula of the first cycle degree programme in Economia aziendale - Economics and management can only take the admission test for the Economia Aziendale curriculum: the results obtained by candidates in the Maths section will be used to draw up the shortlist for the Economics and management curriculum. In this case candidates will only need to pay one pre-enrolment fee, but they will have to carry out two online pre-enrolment procedures to be included in both shortlists. c) Candidates who have scored 580 out of 800 or over in the SAT Math test or 47 out of 60 or over in the GMAT Quantitative test are exempted from taking the admission test. These scores correspond to the top 30% in the ranking obtained by candidates in their respective tests. The shortlist will be drawn up using the scores obtained in SAT or GMAT tests on the basis of the percentile ranking obtained. 5. Test subject matter, duration and scoring a) The test consists of 45 questions in English designed to assess candidates' aptitude for university study, and focusses on logic and maths skills in particular. It has a close-ended multiple choice format and will last 45 minutes. 3

b) The questions are designed to assess: thinking skills (by means of exercises measuring the test taker's ability to comprehend, solve and analyse quantitative problems); maths skills (set union and intersection, logic problems, number and operations, arithmetic, basic algebra, equations and inequalities, graphs representing functions). c) The following scoring system is used: 1 point for a correct answer; 0 points for no answer; -0.5 points for an incorrect answer. d) To see a sample of last year's test go to www.unive.it following this page sequence Study with us > Bachelor's degree programmes- a.y. 2014/2015 > Department of Management > First Cycle Degree Programme in Business Administration- Economics and Management. Art. 6. Admission test process 6.1 Venue and times a) The admission test check-in is scheduled for 3 pm on Friday 9 May 2014. The actual test is due to start at 4 pm. b) The test venue is classroom 2A at the San Giobbe campus (Cannaregio 873, Venice). c) Candidates who have enrolled on both curricula of the Economia aziendale - Economics and management Degree Programme will take the test in the classroom indicated on their receipt for pre-enrolment on the Economia aziendale curriculum. 6. Test day documents a) Candidates must present the following documents on the test day: a photocopy of a valid form of ID; a copy of the pre-enrolment receipt; a pre-enrolment fee payment receipt. 6. Test rules a) Candidates may not take the test once the test has started. b) During the test candidates may only communicate with invigilators; they shall not either speak or communicate with other test takers. Candidates are not allowed to take bags, books or notes, paper, cell phones, calculators or other electronic devices to their desks, and must leave them with at the table of the Test Committee before the start of the test. Any candidates discovered in possession of such objects will be excluded from the test. Invigilators will be present in the classroom during the test to ensure that these rules are respected. c) Candidates must remain in the classroom for the entire duration of the test. d) Failure to follow the instructions given prior to the start of the test will lead to cancellation of the candidate's test. Art. 7. Shortlist The candidate shortlist will be drawn up exclusively on the basis of the test score as laid down in Art. 5, point In case of candidates with the same scores, precedence will be given to the candidate with the highest mean score calculated according to the criteria laid down in Art. 4, point 2 above. In the case of a further tie, precedence will be given to the younger candidate. The shortlist will be published on 15 May 2014 on the university website (www.unive.it) according to the following page sequence Study with us > Bachelor's degree programmes- a.y. 2014/2015 > Department of Management > First Cycle Degree Programme in Business Administration-Economics and Management. The University will not contact candidates either in writing or by telephone. The shortlist will confirm that candidates meet requirements for admission to degree programmes in the economic area of Ca' Foscari. Candidates scoring less than 15 out of 45 in the maths test will be assigned OFA, or Additional Learning Requirements (see Art. 10 below). Art. 8. Place acceptance and shortlist review 8. Accepting your place a) Successfully shortlisted candidates must accept their place by means of the online procedure by 12 noon on 22 May 2014. b) The acceptance procedure involves two steps: Compilation of the online pre-enrolment form; Payment of the pre-enrolment fee of 20 This fee will not be refunded even if candidates do not continue with their enrolment. c) Compiling your online pre-enrolment application: to pre-enrol, enter the Personal Area in the website using your Username and the password that you were given after completing the registration procedure, and select Enrolment > Corsi ad accesso programmato in the Online Student Services section. After selecting your Degree Programme, you will be required to upload a passport-size photograph in jpg format and a copy of your ID to compile your enrolment application. d) Payment of pre-enrolment fee: after compiling your online enrolment application, click on the "Payment" button to choose your preferred payment method. You can pay: Online using a Visa or Master Card: 4

Using the M.O.D code (MAV on demand) that appears when you click on the Paga con MAV button: just give this code to the bank clerk in any bank in Italy. e) Successfully shortlisted candidates who do not accept their place according to the above procedure will be considered as having withdrawn. f) Any places becoming vacant after a candidate has withdrawn will be offered to the next eligible candidate according to the procedure described below. 8. Places available (first review) a) On 23 May 2014 at 4 pm an announcement will be published on the University website indicating the number of places still available. 8. Submission of retrieval application a) From 24 May 2014 to 12 noon on 26 May 2014 waitlisted candidates can submit the retrieval application by going to their Personal Area and selecting this option from the Admission test menu. 8.4. Acceptance procedure (following first review) a) On 26 May 2014 at 4 pm the list of candidates admitted following the first review will be published online. b) Candidates must accept their place from 26 May 2014 to 130 pm on 30 May 2014 by following the procedure described in point 8.1 above. c) Successfully shortlisted candidates who do not accept their place according to the above procedure will be considered as having withdrawn. 8.5. Places available (second review) a) On 30 May 2014 at 4 pm an announcement will be published on the University website indicating the number of places still available. 8.6. Submission of retrieval application a) From 30 May 2014 to 12 noon on 1 June 2014 waitlisted candidates can submit the retrieval application by going to their Personal Area and selecting this option from the Admission test menu. 8.7. Acceptance procedure (following second review) a) On 3 June 2014 at 4 pm the list of candidates admitted following the second review will be published online. b) Candidates must accept their place from 4 June 2014 to 12 noon on 6 June 2014 by following the procedure described in point 8.1 above. c) Successfully shortlisted candidates who do not accept their place according to the above procedure will be considered as having withdrawn. 8.8. Withdrawal a) Although successfully shortlisted candidates who do not accept their place according to the above procedure will be considered as having withdrawn, they may still participate in the summer selection to be held on 25 August 2014. Art. 9. Enrolment 9. Enrolment deadlines a) Candidates who have accepted their place by correctly following the above procedure must enrol between 1 and 31 July 2014 according to the procedures described below or risk exclusion from the shortlist. 9. Enrolment procedure a) The enrolment procedure involves two steps: compilation of online enrolment application; payment of first instalment of university tuition fees. b) Compilation of online enrolment application: using the User name and password given to you at the end of the registration procedure, go to your Personal Area then select Enrolment > Corsi ad accesso programmato and click on the update enrolment button. To compile your enrolment application you will need to update your high school diploma/maturità data and upload the following documents: internationally recognised language qualification certifying English proficiency at B2 level; students who have already taken the SAT Math or GMAT Quantitative tests must submit their certificate with their test score; students with a disability of 66 per cent or over, who are entitled to exemption from their university tuition fees, or with a disability between 50 and 65 per cent, who are entitled to a reduction, must upload their disability certificate; (in the case of students with qualifications obtained abroad), original high school diploma translated into one of the four EU languages (English, French, Spanish or German) and then legalised (Apostille) by the Italian Diplomatic Representative located in the country of the institution that awarded the certificates; Dichiarazione di Valore or, if available, a Diploma Supplement (also applies to Italian students who have obtained their qualifications abroad); passport with student visa. c) Payment of first instalment of university tuition fees; after completing your online enrolment application, click on the "Payment" button to choose your preferred payment method. You can pay: online using a Visa or Master Card; 5

using the M.O.D code (MAV on demand) that appears when you click on the Paga con MAV button: just give this code to the bank clerk in any bank in Italy. The first instalment of your university tuition fees will be deducted from the pre-enrolment fee paid when you accepted your place. e) No refunds will be made of the first instalment of university tuition fees once paid and your enrolment has been finalised. 9. Finalisation of enrolment a) Compilation of your enrolment application and payment of the first instalment of your fees does not automatically lead to your enrolment being finalised. Your enrolment will only be finalised seven working days following payment and will be communicated via email. Art. 10. OFA tests (Additional Learning Requirements)) If you passs your admission test you will be considered to have fulfilled your OFA requirements in mathematics. A pass score (15 or over) means that you have fulfilled your OFA requirements. A fail score means you will be required to fulfill an OFA after enrolment. If you obtained a score of 580 out of 800 or over in the SAT Math test or 47 out of 60 or over in the GMAT Quantitative test you have met your OFA requirements. If you have outstanding OFA (Additional Learning Requirements), you will not be allowed to take any exams until they have been fulfilled.
