Cunselrs, psychlgists, scial wrkers, speech-language pathlgists and audilgists assist with persnal and family needs, mental health assistance, educatinal gals and career decisin making. Teaching and Training: These individuals have the ability t cmmunicate, inspire trust and cnfidence and mtivate learners, as well as understand their educatinal and emtinal needs. Teachers must be able t recgnize and respnd t the individual differences f diverse learners and emply different teaching and training methds that will result in higher learner achievement. 6. The training and develpment specialist, schl cunselr, and teacher careers are all cnsidered H3 (High skill, high wage and high demand) ccupatins. What des this mean? These are tday s in-demand jbs High wage jbs are thse with at least half f their wage measures at r abve the reginal average fr all ccupatins. Measurements include: average hurly wage, entry wage, experienced wage, tenth percentile wage, twenty-fifth percentile wage, fiftieth percentile, seventyfifth percentile wage and ninetieth percentile wage. The percentile wage estimate is the value f a wage belw which a certain percent f wrkers fall. High skill jbs require sme frm f pstsecndary educatin (2 year, 4 year, certificatin, etc.). Occupatins may als require a high schl degree with lng-term nthe-jb training, apprenticeship r an internship. High demand jbs are determined by the number f annual penings, net change in emplyment and grwth rate.

In general, a graduate degree may be necessary fr a specific career, may allw fr advancement within a career, may increase yur ptins and emplyability, may satisfy intellectual curisity, and in many instances, increases salary. 8. Schl cunselrs, bth mental health and guidance, must be excellent listeners t help students with prblems and assist them with educatin and career chices. A training and develpment cnsultant must be cmfrtable speaking in frnt f large and small grups f peple, as well as wrking ne-n-ne with individuals. A schl r university administratr is ging t spend time wrking with budgets and allcating mney t departments and prgrams. He r she must make decisins that are ecnmically sund and best fr the students and the institutin as a whle. Prblem slving is emplyed during these decisins, especially when funds are limited.

Answers will vary, but may include: Teaching is a high demand jb. Great educatrs will always be needed. Teaching jbs exist in every cmmunity, state and arund the wrld. Pursuing teaching as a career, depending n the level f demand fr the specific grade levels and discipline area, may prvide fr a lng-term career and ecnmic security.
