I should like to draw to your attention the distinctive nature of our courses in which have an emphasis on the medical sciences that underpin medical training. Our courses are suited to students with a strong interest in, and aptitude for, biomedical science. Our aim is to produce doctors who have a scientific approach and an ability to relate sympathetically to patients and their families or friends. Whether you choose the four-year course for experimental science graduates, or the standard MBBS course, we aim to provide you with a sound basis for life-long learning by encouraging critical thinking and scientific enquiry. We provide an environment in which bioscience and clinical research are actively pursued at the highest level thus helping students develop their interest in academic or medical science. We are committed to selecting medical students solely on the basis of their aptitude for and medical sciences, irrespective of their ethnic or social origin, religion or sex. Page 3 of 5 Jiangxi University of TCM School of (Brief Introduction) Jiangxi University of TCM(JUTCM) trains physicians, surgeons, dentists, nurses, biomedical researchers, physical therapists, illustrators and many other health care professionals in its institutes of Preventive, Health Sciences, Dentistry, Graduate Studies, Nursing and Center for Behavioral Neuroscience. JUTCM has 7 affiliated and 8 teaching hospitals. MBBS (Bachelor of, Bachelor of Surgery), BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) and various other undergraduate and graduate programs are taught in English. The JUTCM MBBS is a six-year undergraduate degree. It is an interdisciplinary course, combining biomedical sciences and clinical skills training. The medical curriculum provides an interdisciplinary program, organized to provide integration of structure and function within the biomedical sciences. It presents a continually expanding level of medical experience, starting in the first semester of the course. In the first year, the basic medical sciences are taught in the context of their relevance to patient care. Later in the course, clinical teaching builds upon and reinforces this strong scientific foundation. The MBBS 6-year programme in is designed to equip you with a fundamental knowledge and understanding of medicine, and to develop the skills and attitudes you need in order to apply that knowledge in practice. It is essential for doctors to be able to relate well to their patients and demonstrate empathy and respect for them. The programme therefore places considerable emphasis on developing your expertise in a whole range of practical areas, including clinical, communication, observation, teamwork and management skills. Those who have 10+2, A-Levels, FSc, HSSC, WAEC or Equivalent qualification. These must include Chemistry AND Biology AND/OR Mathematics AND/OR Physics

The Medical School accordingly has procedures for removing individuals from the Register of Medical Students on non-academic grounds.
