Camp Phoenix 2018 LIT Application Greetings: Thank you for your interest in the Camp Phoenix 2018 Leaders In Training (LIT) Program. We have been working hard this school year to develop a strong LIT program that will allow you to develop into not only a great camp counselor, but also a great leader. The Camp Phoenix LIT program is a multi-level experience, beginning with this Level 1 application. The cost for the LIT program is $75 per week for a five-week session. The two sessions run from June 11 th -July 13 th and July 16 th -August 17 th. Anyone interested in the Level 1 program MUST turn in a completed application, two letters of recommendation from non-family members, and a current photograph of you no later than Friday March 30 th. There will be a mandatory Group Interview for all candidates Tuesday, April 10 th 7:00PM 8:00PM in the Intergenerational room/ Multi-purpose room. If you are accepted to the program you will need to be available the following days: Tuesday, May 1 st Group Meeting 7:00PM 8:00PM @YMCA Date/Time TBD Camp Training @YMCA All participants are required to attend all 5 weeks during either Session 1 or Session 2 of camp during the summer to successfully complete the program. All applicants MUST be 14 years old on or before June 11 th or their first day of camp. There are no exceptions! The LIT program is a highly selective program that intends to develop teens to become excellent Camp Staff as well as strong leaders in the community. Applicants will be evaluated on the following characteristics; Leadership, Teamwork, Responsibility, Maturity, Enthusiasm, and Creativity. All applicants must attend the Group LIT interview Tuesday April 10 th. There are a limited number of spots available. Please keep in mind, not all applicants will be accepted into the program. We are looking for teens that have a desire and ability to learn and develop strengths in the six characteristics listed above.
