Infinite Campus Parent Portal Guide Web Address: https://ic.bangorschools.net/campus/portal/bangor.jsp Account Activation: To activate your Parent Portal account for the first time you should follow the Parent Portal Activation Guide, which should have been mailed home along with your activation key. A copy of the guide can also be found on the Bangor School Department s web site; http://www.bangorschools.net This activation is a one time process; after you create a username and password you will no longer use the activation key. If you did not receive an activation key please contact your school secretary. Portal Login: Once your account has been activated simply use your chosen username and password at the Infinite Campus Portal login screen. Password Resets/Trouble logging in: If you encounter trouble logging in with your account information, please inform your school secretary in the main office. Secretaries will relay the request to an Infinite Campus account administrator, who will investigate the problem. If your password needs to be reset you need to come to school and show a picture id and complete the appropriate form. After the account administrator has resolved the issue, you will be mailed the new account information. Portal Navigation: After logging in to the parent portal the navigation menu will be displayed along the left side of the browser window. The navigation menu contains links to many items including basic family demographics, Calendar, Student Schedule/Grades, Attendance, and Reports. If you have more than one child attending the Bangor School system you will see all of these options under each student.

Family Info: By clicking on the text Family; family demographic information will be displayed. If you find that the information needs to be updated, please inform your school secretary in the main office. Calendar: The Calendar link provides quick access to assignment due dates, and attendance events. As teachers enter due dates for assignments an icon will automatically be placed on the Calendar. Attendance events are displayed much the same as homework assignments, if the student is absent; an icon indicating an attendance event will be displayed on that date.

Assignment Details: To view more detailed information on an assignment from the Calendar view simply, click on the assignment icon. The assignment details page will display; due date, name of the assignment, and additional information that has been provided by the teacher. Schedule: To view your child s schedule, click on the Schedule link from the navigation menu. This provides you with access to your child s current schedule, and is also where you will access grades. From the schedule page you can get grades by clicking on the course name, which is right next to a grade book icon. If your computer email software is setup correctly, you can also send email to the teacher by clicking on the envelope icon next to the teacher s name.

Teacher Communication: Teachers email addresses are accessible via the Schedule screen. Many conversations regarding student progress are best handled face-to-face or on the phone, but email is available. Please note that response time will usually take two to three business days, and may vary by teacher. Grades: To access grades click the Schedule link, and then click on the course name to view grades for the selected course. From the grades section you can see homework grades, exam grades, as well as the overall course average. Please note that many factors determine how soon a teacher will post grades. Teachers will do their best to grade their student s work and to communicate student progress in a timely manner. If you have a question regarding a grade please ask your child first, if you still need clarification please contact the teacher.

Attendance: To view your child s current attendance records, click on the Attendance link from the navigation menu. This will bring up a report of all attendance events. If there are no events registered in the system this page will report no reported events. Totals per quarter are displayed on the left, while daily details are on the right. Reports: Under the Reports heading on the navigation menu there are two reports currently available to parents and students. These are Student Schedule and Missing Assignment reports. The Student Schedule report is simply a print out of the students schedule for easy access. The Missing Assignment report allows a parent or student to see any assignments that the teacher has indicated as missing. Change Account Information: To change your password, click the Change Account Information button. You will need to enter the existing password, and then what you want the new password to be in the next two boxes. Change Contact Information: If you wish to provide an email address for your parent portal account click on the Change Contact Information button, and enter your email address in the box.
