GIORGIO DI GIORGIO DEAN THE AIM OF THE THREE-YEAR BACHELOR S DEGREE PROGRAM IN ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS IS TO TRAIN EUROPEAN GRADUATES, OPEN-MINDED AND WITH A STRONG INTERNATIONAL VOCATION. a The course provides with a solid background in the most important economic fields, offering an excellent introduction in the fields of business and finance. Students enrolled in the program will acquire: A strong methodological training in quantitative subjects to understand, analyze and forecast economic and financial phenomena; A clear understanding of the theoretical foundations of economics; An attentive insight on the mechanisms regulating the business of firms and their management; In addition to teaching basic economic and business principles, the course also offers an introduction to the operation and policies of the main European institutions and the regulatory requirements of the various markets, paying special attention to the topics of competition and antitrust laws. In this context, law courses are limited in number, but they acquire an international breath, focusing on the comparison of different legal systems and on the definition of the unifying international principles. The course envisages the opportunity to attend classes entirely at luiss Guido Carli in Rome, or to take two full semesters in the Netherlands at the Utrecht School of Economics. According to the Shangai Ranking of the World Universites, the University of Utrecht ranks first in the Netherlands and 12th in Europe. Students may opt for this opportunity after their first semester in Rome, subject to a selection process based on their performance during their first year at luiss. The coordination of the entire program of the Bachelor s degree in Economics and Business and of the exchange program with USE is a challenge on totally new grounds for myself. We are enriching the program with new initiatives. For instance, with the precious help of the Dutch Embassy in Rome, we just started the first Dutch-Italian Business Competition where students from both universities (luiss and USE) gather into teams to tackle business cases for the most important Dutch-based firms operating in Italy. THE MAIN OBJECTIVE IS TO HELP FORM INDEPENDENT EUROPEAN CITIZENS WITH A SOLID ECONOMIC BACKGROUND AND A SINCERE VOCATION FOR MANAGEMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP. a Graduates can work for economic and financial institutions, businesses and public administrations, with positions commensurate with the three-year preparation they have attained. Most importantly, students can continue their studies with a Master program, both in Italy and abroad, with an important international experience already present in their CV.

ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS SELECTION CRITERIA ADMISSION TEST TO ATTEND LUISS UNIVERSITY IT S COMPULSORY TO PASS THE ADMISSION TEST THE FIRST ADMISSION TEST WILL BE HELD ON 16 MAY 2012 IN ROME AT HOTEL ERGIFE AND AT 29 OTHER LOCATIONS THROUGHOUT ITALY. THE SECOND ADMISSION TEST WILL BE HELD ON 4 SEPTEMBER 2012 IN ROME.
