At this time course and activity fees should be accurately applied and you can complete payment and registration at one time. While portions of this process are available earlier, the most accurate fees are not available until 8/2. Forms and fees should be completed and paid Tuesday, August 2 through Sunday, August 7. 2. Campus Paper Forms - Print out THS forms attached here, linked on the Turner website, or pick up a packet at Turner s office. What to bring with you on Registration Day: 1. Required - July or August 2016 Gas, Water, or Electric Bill (no cell phone or cable bills) with name and address that match residency (1 copy) 2. Required - Student Code of Conduct Signature Page signed by parent/guardian & student 3. Required - School of Choice Agreement signed by parent/guardian & student 4. Traveling Student Form required if student is traveling to/from campus signed by parent/guardian & student 5. Student Parking Application (optional) & proof of automobile insurance (2 copies) 6. FORM 4 REQUIRED IF Student travels Travel Form for Travel Between Campuses My child,, voluntarily enrolled at Turner High School. I understand the district provides transportation to this campus. My child will be riding a shuttle to/from Turner to attend classes. My child is not able to utilize the PISD transportation provided because Check statements below: I am requesting permission for my child to drive him/herself to or from Turner High School or to ride the shuttles provided by Pearland ISD. I understand my student only has permission to travel at a designated time according to his/her schedule and with an official travel pass ID attached to his/her school ID. I understand that Pearland ISD does not authorize off-campus lunch travel. I understand my student, who rides the shuttles, may NOT ride with students who drive unless the driver is a sibling who needs to travel at the same time of day and a Travel Form has been completed by a parent or guardian. I understand it is the responsibility of my student to know the changes to the travel times and schedule during testing or special schedule days. If student is driving - I understand my student only has permission to drive alone or with a sibling who needs to travel at the same time of day. I understand that my child should neither transport other students nor ride with other students. If student is driving - I hereby give my child permission to transport him/herself or by a sibling. I understand that Pearland ISD is not responsible for any aspect of this transportation, including arranging the transportation, and cannot vouch for my child s safety while being transported to or from Turner High School. FORM 5 - OPTIONAL Robert Turner College and Career High School Parking Permit Application and Parking Regulations 2016-2017 STUDENT NAME STUDENT ID# GR. LAST NAME FIRST NAME DRIVER LICENSE # DRIVER S AGE PERMIT # LIST ACTIVITIES/SPORTS YOU PARTICIPATE IN: This Permit is only valid for the vehicle listed below and cannot be transferred between vehicles or students. MAKE OF VEHICLE MODEL YEAR_ COLOR_ (Example: Ford) (Example: Mustang) LICENSE PLATE # _ INSURING COMPANY OWNER PARKING PERMITS: A valid Texas driver s license and proof of insurance on the vehicle (STUDENT S NAME MUST APPEAR ON THE INSURANCE CARD) is required to purchase a permit. Cost of a new permit is $30.00; $15.00 after December 31. Permits are not transferable from car to car, nor from student to student. If the vehicle is damaged or sold and a new permit is required for a new vehicle, the old permit must be peeled from the windshield and returned in order to receive a new permit at no cost. PARKING AREAS: Student cars may be parked in the student lot only. Students are responsible to know the designated student parking areas. Student cars cannot be parked in any area marked for faculty or reserved for visitors. Vehicles must be parked within the lines of designated spaces, and may not be parked in any area not specifically marked. Parking in spaces with cross hatching, or on grass is not permitted. Illegally parked cars are subject to being towed away without warning at the owner s expense. (See Student Parking Rules, Student Handbook) SPEEDING/RECKLESS DRIVING: The speed limit in the parking lot is 5 mph. Speeding and/or reckless/unsafe driving will result in disciplinary action as described herein. PASSENGERS: Students should only transport themselves and siblings between schools during the day. Students transporting others before and after school should only do so with express parental permission from all parties involved. SCHOOL DAY: Students may not drive away during the school day without parental permission and clearance from the attendance office or a travel pass on their ID for students with classes on other campuses. This daytime travel between campuses can only be done alone and not with passengers unless it is a sibling requiring travel at the same time of day. LOITERING: Loitering in the parking lots during school hours is prohibited. Once the vehicle is parked, all passengers must vacate the vehicle and leave the lot immediately. Students must have a pass to go to their car during the school day when they are not leaving campus. PENALTIES/CONSEQUENCES: Violation of any of the above regulations and rules will result in penalties which may include, but not be limited to, temporary or permanent loss of parking privileges, detention, in-school suspension, or Alternative Learning Academy assignment. RESPONSIBILITY: The parking lot and parking privileges are offered to students as a convenience. As such, Pearland Independent School District, its staff or agents cannot be considered or held responsible for any damage, loss, or theft occurring to any vehicle while parked on Pearland Independent School District property. SEARCH OF VEHICLES: Controlled substances, drugs, drug paraphernalia, alcohol, tobacco products, pyrotechnics (gunpowder, etc.), guns, knives, instruments that may be used to inflict bodily harm, are strictly forbidden and prohibited on the school campus. Any such items found in or on a vehicle parked on school property will be considered to be on school property and the owner of the vehicle, or the student or person to whom a parking permit for that vehicle was issued, will be considered to be in possession of those items. Since parking on school property is by permission only, your vehicle will be subject to search. While parking on Pearland Independent School District property, your vehicle may be searched for materials described above, or any other items of a controlled, illegal or contraband nature. If reasonable suspicion exists that such items are located in the vehicle, such items may be confiscated, and disciplinary action may be taken. Reasonable efforts will be made to conduct a vehicle search in the presence of the person to whom the parking permit for that vehicle was issued or the owner of the vehicle. District personnel or agents of the District will request and attempt to gain cooperation from the student or owner of the vehicle in gaining entry into the vehicle. However, in lieu of such cooperation, the District and its agent may gain entry to the vehicle by forcible means. Efforts will be made to gain entry with minimal or no damage to the vehicle. However, neither the District nor its agents will be responsible for any damage that is caused. If a student to whom a parking permit was issued or who drives without a permit fails to cooperate in allowing the District access to a vehicle that the District reasonably suspects contains contraband, he/she will lose his/her parking privilege for up to a one year period. Additionally, such failure to cooperate will constitute a violation of school rules and the student will be subject to appropriate discipline including, but not limited to, the privilege of participating in extracurricular activities. UNAUTHORIZED USE OF VEHICLES: The privilege of parking at RTCCHS may be suspended or revoked for using the vehicle to leave campus without permission, for loitering during the school day, or for other non-authorized purposes, including inappropriate transportation of students off campus. I have read the ROBERT TURNER COLLEGE TURNER HIGH SCHOOL PARKING REGULATIONS. By accepting a parking permit, I will abide by the rules described herein. I also hereby authorize the Pearland Independent School District and/or their agents to conduct a search of my vehicle for illegal items including, but not limited to, tobacco, drugs and/or controlled substances, drug paraphernalia, alcohol, pyrotechnics or weapons. Such search will be conducted if there is a reasonable suspicion or probable cause that such items may exist herein. Such suspicion or cause may occur through various means including, but not limited to, the use of specially trained dogs.
