Bachelor of Business Management Honours Degree in Financial Engineering The Department of Finance is one of the most prominent academic departments in the Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies of University of Kelaniya, which currently offers B. B. Mgt. (Special) Degree in Finance, B. B. Mgt. Honors Degree in Insurance and B. B. Mgt. Honors Degree in Banking which are primarily focused on the areas of finance, insurance and banking. Further Department of Finance aspire to introduce B. B. Mgt. Honors Degree in Financial Engineering from the academic year 2017/2018 to produce highly skilled finance literate graduates to better serve in dynamic financial services industry. This degree programme is introduced to produce graduates with specialized knowledge in financial engineering to cater to the requirements of the dynamic financial services industry. The curriculum is designed to provide future professionals who are skillful and knowledgeable in risk management, financial model building and product development. The programme consists of subjects in the key areas of financial engineering such as mathematical modeling for finance, simulation techniques in finance, efficient mathematics and optimization, etc. Further all the exams and lectures in the degree programme are conducted in English medium. Selection Applicants should possess the minimum requirements for admission to universities, specified under the section 2.2.8 and 2.2.8.36 of the handbook on Admission to Undergraduate Programmes of the Universities in Sri Lanka for the Academic Year 2017/2018, issued by the University Grants Commission. In addition, those who apply to the UGC for admission to the Universities are required to apply, sit and meet the minimum criteria set for the aptitude test. The aptitude test will be held on 1 st April 2018 in the areas of Mathematical and Analytical Reasoning. Exam will be held in English medium.
