MINNESOTA HISTORICAL SOCIETY Minnesota State Archives PINE COUNTY Superintendent of Schools An Inventory of its Teacher s Term Reports OVERVIEW OF THE RECORDS Agency: Pine County (Minn.). Series Title: Teacher s term reports, Dates: 1896-1970. Quantity: 8.5 cu. ft. (8 boxes and 1 partial box). Location: See Detailed Description section for box locations. SCOPE AND CONTENTS OF THE RECORDS Reports made to the superintendent by school teachers at the end of each term. They may include reports of classification and attendance, scholastic records and daily programs, textbook inventories, and teacher and school building information. Also included are annual reports of principals or superintendents of graded schools. Through 1937, the reports are filed numerically by district; from 1938 through 1970 they are filed chronologically by year, thereunder numerically by district, with records for the Unorganized District at the end of each annual sequence. School district numbers 31, 63, 68, 70, and 119 are missing from the pre-1938 unit. Especially before 1920, the reports are incomplete. Researchers should note that dates for this series generally are determined by the end of the school year. Therefore, 1897 records would include school terms that began in 1896.
