Fudan-Paris1 Double Degree Master Program in World Economy(Globalization and World Economy) in English 1. Brief Introduction The faculty of economics of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne University and the school of Economics of Fudan University, which are leading Economics Departments in France and China, have joined their efforts to initiate an innovative Double-Degree Masters International Program in Economics specialized in Globalization and World Economy. This program, starting in 2008, trains Chinese and non-chinese economists who will become key experts in Euro-Chinese economic relations. 2. Duration of the program This integrated master program stretches over two years. Students are required to spend their first academic year (3 semesters) at Université Paris 1 and the second academic year (2 semesters) at Fudan University. 3. Program Structure Year 1 : Students will register as full-time both at Paris 1 and Fudan.The first academic year (two semesters) will be organized in Paris 1 starting from September. For the first two semesters, will be enrolled in the "Pantheon Sorbonne Master in Economics (1st year)" programme, which is a program specifically designed at Paris 1 for English-speaking and giving the same course content as the regular program of 1st year of Master for French and French-speaking. Chinese will be also offered classes of French as a foreign language, while non-chinese will be offered classes of Chinese as a foreign language. Only who will have successfully completed the first two semesters will be allowed to continue. Students in the double degree will follow a summer semester consisting of 4 level M2 at Paris 1 before leaving for China and completing the 2nd year of master at Fudan.The and tutorial activities at Paris 1 will be worth 440 +tutorials hours and 76 credits (in the European ECTS system). Year 2 :The second academic year (two semesters) will be organized at Fudan starting inseptember. Selection Standards (For international ) Bachelor degree in economics or related disciplines ; English language proficiency, certified byatoefl certificate (above 550 for PBT, 80 for IBT) or an IELTS certificate (above 6.5); Students who graduated from an English-taught undergrad program are exempt from English proficiency tests ; Meet Fudan University s admission requirement for international. 5. Application International should directly apply to Fudan University and Paris1 at the same time. Application materials should be sent to Fudan University and Paris 1 respectively both by mail and in hard copy. Application deadline is April 10 th every year or as notified by university website. Step 1:The first year is the same as the PSME program. Thus, international should directly apply to the PSME program and state clearly in their letter of motivation that they want to join the Fudan program. Applicants must provide the following:
A detailed CV in English; A cover letter describing interest in the program, accomplishments, and future plans (max: one page); Certified English translations of their academic transcripts and a copy of their Bachelor's Degree in Economics or related fields; An English language certificate: IELTS with an average score of at least 6.5 or equivalent TOEFL scores (at least 550 for PBT; 80 for IBT) Two letters of recommendation, each in an envelope signed across the seal by the recommending professor; A copy of your passport; The application form Step 2: As you are at the same time enrolled at Fudan University while studying in Paris, you will have to apply directly to Fudan University for the second year of the Double Degree Program.
