Policy Details 1. OBJECTIVES Shiv Nadar University (SNU) offers various programs under School of Engineering, School of Natural Sciences, School of Humanities & Social Sciences, School of Management & Entrepreneurship and various other courses. The purpose of this policy is to publish fee structure and various scholarship schemes available to students under different programs in all the schools. 2. SCOPE This document is intended to define and document the Policy for Publication of Fees for batches starting in 2015 and beyond for all programs offered by Shiv Nadar University. The term fee structure broadly includes application fee, admission fee, tuition fees, special fees, refundable security deposit, hostel fees & contribution to student activity fund. This document also captures various categories of scholarships offered to students based on various merits and internal assessment of the University. This policy does not define the eligibility criteria for admission - these criteria are defined separately through admission notifications for each academic year. Finance is the owner of this policy and is responsible for maintaining and updating the policy. Any clarifications on the policy should be routed to the Finance Officer. 3. FEE INCLUSIONS 3.1. Non-Refundable 3.1.1 Application Fee: This is a one-time fee to be paid by a candidate at the time of application to any undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral programs offered by the University and is nonrefundable under any circumstances. 3.1.2 Admission Fee: Non-refundable amount payable one time at the time of admission in 1 st year. 3.1.3 Tuition Fee & Special Fee: Payable annually at the start of every academic year and is different for different programs and includes cost of maintenance & development, laboratory, examination, library and computers, etc. 3.1.4 Hostel Accommodation Fee: Payable annually at the start of every academic year. SNU is a fully residential University. Every full-time student of University is entitled to an appropriate residential accommodation. Every degree program has an associated hostel room type allocation published at the time of admission. Please refer the Hostel Room Entitlement Policy (ST205) for details of room entitlement and allocation, and the associated rules and charges. 3.1.5 Mess charges: Payable at the start of every semester. The University collects these as passthrough charges to the service provider. 3.1.6 Laundry charges: Payable at the start of every semester. The University collects these as passthrough charges to the service provider. 5

3.2. Refundable: 3.2.1 Security Deposit: This is an interest-free one-time deposit, which is refundable at the time of leaving the University. Any fees due, damage or loss done to the University is liable to be adjusted from the Security Deposit of respective student. 3.3. Scholarships SNU offers attractive scholarships in the form of tuition and special fee waivers to meritorious students. Scholarship and fee waiver amounts are pre-defined by the University for all programs and continuation/retention is subject to fulfilling the academic criteria as laid down under Policy for retention of tuition fee waivers for Undergraduate students (ST202). 4. GENERAL GUIDELINES 4.1 The fee structure for admission in any academic year is given in the appropriate Annexure. The candidate upon selection to the program will have to pay the full annual fees at the time of admission to the program. The fees of subsequent academic sessions are to be paid before start of registration for courses for the semester. 4.2 The fees laid down are subject to revision every academic year for new batches. 4.3 After paying the fees and securing the admission, if the student does not report to the University on the stipulated date of joining, her admission will stand cancelled. The fees will be refunded only as per the University guidelines for fee withdrawal (Section 5 below) subject to receiving a written request for withdrawal. 4.4 The students are required to pay the fees on or before the stipulated date. Late payment of fees by students could result in non-registration for the academic year. 4.5 Fees for societies/club memberships are also not included and are to be borne by the student based on personal preferences and affiliations. 5. GUIDELINES FOR FEE WITHDRAWAL If a student wishes to withdraw from the University after completing the admission requirements, she will be entitled to get the refund of fees as per UGC guidelines detailed below. The request for such withdrawal has to be made in writing either in person to the Admissions Office or through the registered email id and should be emailed to AdmissionOffer@SNU.edu.in. A request sent to any other email id will not be valid. 6 5.1 Request for withdrawal received before commencement of academic session: If an admitted student withdraws before the start of the session, SNU will keep the Application Fee and refund the rest of the fee plus the deposit.

5.2 Request for withdrawal received within 30 days of commencement of academic session: If a student withdraws within 30 days of the start of the session, SNU will refund the security deposit, and also the balance of fees prorated on the basis of total annual cost, i.e., [(fee at rack rate + all other charges excluding security deposit) / 180 teaching days] x number of days the student has stayed in the University (i.e., up to the date on which the student communicates in writing the intent to leave or vacate the hostel by handing over the keys, whichever is later). 5.3 Request for withdrawal received after closure of admissions: If a student withdraws after 30 days of the start of the session, SNU will refund only the security deposit. 7

Fee Structure for admission year 2015-16 The fee structure for students taking admissions in Shiv Nadar University in Academic Year 2015 will be as follows: One Time Charges: 1. These charges are collected by the University at the beginning of every semester and paid to the vendor as a pass through. These charges may vary from year to year based on inflation and the decisions of the relevant student body and Dean-Student Welfare. 10
