(4 boxes) Collection #: AR 546 Historical Sketch The Association of Southern Baptist Campus Ministers is a fellowship of elected, appointed, and volunteer special ministers who serve the spiritual needs of college and university students. It was organized June 12, 1977, at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Kansas City, Missouri. It exists to highlight campus ministry; the sharing of ideas, trends, and concerns; and to provide professional development and recognition among its members. The Association accomplishes its goals through the publication of a journal and a newsletter, holding an annual meeting/workshop, and through interactive dialogue and communication among members. Scope and Content Note The collection contains proceedings of the annual meetings and workshops, copies of the newsletter, the official journal (The Campus Minister), history and organization, membership applications, directories, miscellaneous correspondence, financial documentation, and photographs.
