Adult Education Many adults are only a few credits away from earning their high school diploma. We can help you finish your high school education and earn your diploma. Once we get a chance to review your transcript, we can find out what credits you need to earn your diploma. This program is also helpful for seniors that may not be eligible to graduate on time. They can still continue as an adult educator. Study at your own pace: You can earn your credits as your work schedule allows, in the convenience of your home. The flexibility of home education allows you to set-up a schedule that works for you, when you're ready, wherever you think is best: at home, at the local library, or while on the road. Adult education students may only earn one credit a month, or a maximum of 12 credits per school year. College and Career: Earning your high school diploma can improve your current employment prospects and make you eligible to continue on to college. Cap and Gown Graduation: Adult education students are welcomed to participate in our Senior Graduation Ceremony, conducted in the Middle Tennessee area. (Extra fees apply, see page 33.) Pg. 35
Enrollment Instructions Earn your diploma at home. Program: Credits: This education program is designed for 18 year-olds and older who are interested in earning their high school diploma. Adult educators have twelve months to complete credits towards their diploma. At the end of this period, if all required credits for graduation are not earned, students will need to re-enroll for another school year. The credits worksheet on the following page will help you review and determine credits needed to earn your high school diploma. Our records office will review your transcripts and notify you (in writing) of the remaining courses (credits) you will need to complete in order to earn your diploma. Bible credits: only studies concerning the Judeo-Christian Holy Bible are accepted as Bible credits. Application: Please fill-in and submit with the appropriate fee ($150.00). Please note that because most transcripts are archived by the local education agency, only the adult educator can request them, and will need to provide them to our records office. Books: Reports: The credits needed will determine the necessary books. Please note that the enrollment fee does not include any books. These must be purchased separately. This report needs to be submitted at the end of your school year (twelve months after your enrollment). Reports submitted two weeks after the twelve months are completed will be considered late. Please know that we reserve the right NOT to accept late reports. Graduation: When all required credits are earned, a high school diploma will be issued to the student (cover included). Adult educators are welcome to participate in our Senior Graduation Ceremony. We have had participants of all ages, including our oldest so far a 62 year-old grandmother. See page 33 for our ceremony form. Updates: This program is subject to change as we review and update the program to help our adult education students. Pg. 36
