REVELATION ONLINE Revelation Online offers a unique approach to online learning in that students can participate in a virtual classroom where they, their fellow students and their teachers collaborate during the scheduled delivery of their courses. As well, students can select an independent method of course delivery. The program offers students an opportunity to take one or two courses or to enroll as a full-time student. academic PROGRAMS CARDINAL COLLINS HIGH SCHOOL ACADEMIC CENTRE Find Your Hope Through a Journey of Faith WHAT IS CARDINAL COLLINS HIGH SCHOOL ACADEMIC CENTRE? Cardinal Collins High School Academic Centre is our District centre for high school upgrading and completion. The centre is located within the Clareview Recreation Centre and easily accessible via the LRT northeast line. Cardinal Collins students enjoy all amenities that the Recreation Centre has to offer as well as an adult learning environment. Cardinal Collins' Ascension classroom-based program is designed for students who are in their 4 th or 5 th year of high school. Students may need to upgrade a Diploma course or take a Diploma course for the first time. Our students can also complete any Alberta High School Diploma requirements that they are missing to graduate. Our students have full access to academic counselling. Our primary goal is to help you on your post-secondary or career path. Cardinal Collins schedules all diploma subject courses around the November, January, April and June diploma exam dates. In an intensive 8 week quarter program, students are able to complete one or two diploma courses and write the diploma exam at the end of the quarter. Students can enroll in either a morning class or afternoon class; morning classes are 9:15 am 11:50 am and afternoon classes are 12:45 pm - 3:20 pm. Students may also complete courses through other methods. OUR LADY OF GRACE PROGRAM (OLOG) For Pregnant and Parenting Teens Our Lady of Grace provides mobile and individualized services for pregnant or parenting teens (female and male): We come to you and provide assistance to you right at your community school. Our staff assesses every student to see what her or his needs are. Services are provided based on those needs. Educational alternatives are available for students experiencing difficulty in a regular school setting. Personalized counselling for students and their families is available. We provide weekly parent support groups, pre-natal and post-natal courses and referrals to community agencies. We will meet with any student, parent or teacher at any Edmonton Catholic School regarding issues related to pregnancy and parenting. general information GENERAL PROGRAM INFORMATION Summer School, PASS & Diploma Preps Prerequisites All Programs Alberta Education regulations regarding prerequisite courses apply to all programs. These regulations specify that a student must have a pass standing (ie. 50% or higher) in the prerequisite course in order to continue with the series. If you register for a course without prerequisite standing, you will be withdrawn from the course without a refund of the Technology User or Program Fees. SUMMER SCHOOL ATTENDANCE Classroom-Based Attendance Full attendance is crucial. Students will not be allowed to start at a later date, end early or write final exams early to accommodate holiday plans. Students cannot have more than two absences for a 5 credit course or one absence for a 3 credit course. If these absences occur, students may be automatically withdrawn from their course. Self-Paced Attendance Attendance must be regular and consistent in order to complete the course. Students must attend the first 5 days in order to finalize registration. If 50% of the course is completed, this requirement can be waived by the site coordinator. Please do not plan on taking holidays or on working full-time during summer school. Students are expected to hand in work on a regularly scheduled basis. Refunds All Programs Alternative Education reserves the right to cancel any class where the minimum enrollment is not met. A full refund will be issued for any course cancelled by Alternative Education. All Technology User and Program fees are Non-Refundable after registration or upon withdrawal. Only the.00 will be refunded upon the return of textbooks/materials in satisfactory condition within one year after the completion of the course. Inappropriate behavior or damage to school property will result in the immediate dismissal of the student. Refunds will not be issued.
