The rapid progress that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has witnessed under the leadership of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan is alone a testament to the strident developments that he committed to realizing in a bid to better the UAE, namely by enriching its culture and economy, whilst ameliorating and expanding the future horizons of its growing population of men and women alike. The late Sheikh Zayed foresaw that the key to UAE s transformation and development centered around empowering the leaders of tomorrow with the highest quality education today. This vision has enabled aspiring graduates and young professionals to become key players in an emergent knowledge economy at both the national and international arenas. Put simply, education was the late Sheikh Zayed s first and foremost concern, and the nation has unanimously committed to ensuring that his Legacy continues. INTRODUCTION Zayed University is a national and regional leader in educational innovation. Founded in 1998 and proudly bearing the name of the Founder of the Nation the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, this flagship institution has met the President s high expectations. ADMISSION TO ZAYED UNIVERSITY UAE National Applicants To be considered for admission, all National applicants must possess a valid UAE passport, valid UAE National Identity Certificate and UAE ID. Applicants from a high school following the UAE curriculum must have 12 years of school and an attested General School Leaving Certificate, a minimum 70% average in academic subjects, a minimum CEPA English score of 150, and a CEPA Mathematics score (no minimum score is currently required). Applicants from a high school following an International curriculum must have 12 years of school: GCSE/IGCSE must complete five subjects at the ordinary level and two subjects at the GCE Advanced Subsidiary or Advanced level, with a passing grade in each subject. International Baccalaureate must successfully complete five subjects. If you are currently in high school, or have completed high school this year: Submit a completed application form with all documentation attached and Zayed University selected as your primary choice of institution to the National Admissions and Placement Office (NAPO). For more details about admission requirements and application forms for International students, please visit: http://www.zu.ac.ae/main/en/enroll/international.aspx The Academic Bridge Program (ABP): Success at Zayed University requires proficiency in both Arabic and English languages. Students admitted to the University are initially placed either directly into the baccalaureate program or into the Academic Bridge Program. This placement depends primarily upon each student s proficiency in English as measured by

the Common Educational Proficiency Assessment (CEPA) exam administered by the National Admissions and Placement Office (NAPO) in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Students initially placed into the ABP progress into University College and the baccalaureate program only once they successfully complete the Academic Bridge Program exit requirements and achieve the required level of English proficiency (overall band score of 5.0 or greater) as measured by the International English Language Testing Service (IELTS) exams. University College (UC): University College is responsible for delivering Zayed University s general education program, organized as the Colloquy on Integrated Learning. The Colloquy Program initiates the baccalaureate careers of all Zayed University students. University College offers the high quality foundational education, the Colloquy on Integrated Learning, to all Zayed University students. It prepares them for their future majors and eventual employment. The experience instills in them a desire for lifelong learning, fosters intellectual curiosity, and engenders critical thinking. COLLEGES COLLEGE OF ARTS & CREATIVE ENTERPRISES This College aims to prepare students to become creative leaders in the arts and related industries. It aims to provide student artists and designers with an opportunity to explore and develop their own creative ideas while contributing to national initiatives in culture in the UAE. The College of Arts and Creative Enterprises is recognized as susbstantially equivalent by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (USA). COLLEGE OF BUSINESS This College offers fully professionalized degrees in all of the major business fields. Its research and outreach centers, devoted to entrepreneurship, economic data analysis, and multi-cultural leadership, will generate knowledge and expertise in support of the UAE s economic growth and the diversification of its industries. The College of Business obtained its accreditation from the Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business (USA) in June 2013. COLLEGE OF EDUCATION This College provides expertise supporting all aspects of teacher preparation, language and math education, educational leadership, and educational research. The College of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (USA).

COLLEGE OF COMMUNICATION AND MEDIA SCIENCES This College prepares graduates to work in electronic and print media environments, public relations, television, and film. Its research programs concentrate specifically on the impact of media on society. The College of Communication and Media Sciences is accredited by the International Advertising Association and also obtained its accreditation from the Accrediting Council on Education in Journalism and Mass Communications (USA) in 2015. COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGICAL INNOVATION This College is committed to the innovative and secure uses of technology in all UAE sectors, including the government, corporate, manufacturing, education, and health environments. It also sustains curricular and research innovation, through its interdisciplinary programs developed with all of the University s Colleges. The College of Technological Innovation obtained its accreditation from the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (USA) in the summer of 2012. COLLEGE OF NATURAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES This College aspires to be nationally and internationally recognized for excellence in teaching and research within the fields of environmental science and sustainability, integrated sciences, public health and nutrition and psychology. It aims to foster qualified bilingual professionals who can contribute to achieving national goals and advancing the nation by applying scientific and critical thinking and through innovation.

COLLEGE OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES This College promotes the study of history, politics, law, culture and society at the national, regional and international levels. A broader, more holistic perspective allows students to engage positively with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and encourages flexibility and innovative thinking in the workplace and in their daily lives.
