Graduate Studies Application Packet Special Application Instructions Doctor of Occupational Therapy For an Occupational Therapy application packet, applicants must visit gannon.edu/ OTD and apply through OTCAS. Do not use this application. Doctor of Physical Therapy For a Physical Therapy application packet, applicants must visit gannon.edu/dpt. Do not use this application. Nurse Anesthetist For a UPMC Hamot School of Anesthesia application packet, applicants must contact Phyllis Machacek, Education Coordinator, at (814) 877-2938 or visit hamotschoolofanesthesia.org for an application to the UPMC Hamot School of Anesthesia. Clinical Mental Health Counseling In addition to the requirements, applicants must also submit a 250 word essay explaining why they chose the Counseling profession and the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program. An interview is also required with the Director of the program. Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Learning and Leadership In addition to the requirements, applicants must also submit: copies of the Graduate Record Exam (GRE) taken within the past three years reflecting quantitative, verbal and analytical writing scores; a resume delineating the scope, responsibilities and functions of all positions held within the past five years; an interview; and a statement of purpose (limited to 500 words) that summarizes the perceived value of the OLL doctoral program for the applicant s personal and professional growth. Application Instructions Application Fees Return the completed application with the application fee to the Office of Graduate Admissions using the enclosed envelope. Make check payable to Gannon University. All first-time Gannon graduate students are required to submit the application fee. The application fee is $25 for all programs. Official Transcripts All applicants must request that an official transcript from all colleges and universities previously attended be forwarded to the Graduate Admissions Office. To be considered official, transcripts must be sent directly from your previous institution(s) to Gannon University. All transcripts become the property of Gannon University and cannot be returned to the applicant nor forwarded to a third party. Letters of Recommendation Three letters of recommendation must be forwarded for all degree and certificate-seeking applicants. Letters should be submitted by individuals who are familiar with the student s academic and professional background. Non-matriculant and non-degree students are not required to submit recommendations. All recommendations become the property of Gannon University and cannot be returned to the applicant nor forwarded to a third party. Exam Scores Please see your program s Fact Sheet to determine if a graduate entrance exam (i.e., GRE or GMAT) is required. Nondegree and non-matriculant students are not required to submit test scores. English Language Proficiency Students whose native language is not English and who intend to begin their degree immediately must demonstrate English language proficiency with the following documentation: a minimum TOEFL ibt of 79, a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 or clearance of ELS level 11, a minimum PTE of 53, a minimum English 3 of 66 (or a comparable campus-based program). Please note that student pursuing a masters in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Software Engineering and Engineering Management are required to have a minimum 6.0 in the IELTS, a minimum TOEFL ibt of 79 or clearance of ELS level 112 (or a comparable campusbased program). International candidates interested in the Health Sciences (undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs) must have a TOEFL ibt of 80. Students who do not have the minimal proficiency will be tested upon arrival and placed, if necessary, into Gannon s English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) program in order to attain the requisite English-language proficiency. Students who are required to take ESL courses MUST successfully complete the ESL program with grades of B or better before transitioning into a degree program. Non-Matriculant Students Non-matriculant applicants must submit a letter from their current college or university certifying good standing and granting specific permission to enroll in a Gannon University course. Financial Aid The Gannon University Application for Financial Aid should be submitted by all students who will not be receiving employer reimbursement. Eligibility for institutional awards will be determined by the Financial Aid Office. 3
