I hope everyone's Easter holiday break was filled with fond memories and peaceful moments. I would like to welcome Laura Cato-Symonds to St Patrick s staff. Laura will be working as an Educational Support Officer I would also like to welcome the Arndt family to our school community. Riley will be starting in Year 2 and Madyson in Year 4. We hope you make new friends quickly and enjoy your time at St Patrick s. Sacrament of Confirmation: The first meeting for the Sacrament of Confirmation is to be held on Thursday 27th April at St Mary s Church Sale. This meeting is a parent only meeting and commences at 7.00pm. For more details please contact Sacramental Coordinator Jenny Fitzgerald on 51444100. Yr. 2 Class Mass: This Wednesday 19th April, the Year 2 class will celebrate Mass at 9.30am in St Patrick's Church. Families, friends and parishioners are welcome to attend. Casual Clothes Day: On Wednesday 19th April students are permitted to wear appropriate casual clothes. Students are to bring with them on this day a sealed plastic bag with a non perishable items inside. The bags are going to be used at the Shakespeare Festival Faire. Catholic College Sale Information Session: This Wednesday 19th April commencing at 7.30pm, staff members from Catholic College Sale will be doing a presentation in the Multi Purpose Room to any interested parents enrolling your child in 2018 and beyond. Catholic College Sale have a scheduled an open day for all prospective students to be held next Thursday 27th April. Students in Year 5-6 will be away on camp, however parents are still invited to attend on this day. At this stage the students will have their own tour of the campus on Friday the 5th of May with more details to come.
School Board Meeting: At the AGM School Board meeting held last term, Gerard Condon, Carly Richardson and Jo Kennedy were thanked for their support and wonderful contribution for the last several years. I am pleased to announce our new school board members for 2017: Dean Peter Bickley, Damian Hogan, David Stringer (Chairperson), Karen MacGregor (Secretary), Catherine Boyd (Staff), Adrian Spence, John Theodore and Julieanne White (P&F Rep). Parents & Friends Meeting: The next Parents and Friends meeting is this Friday 19th April commencing at 9.15am in the Multi Purpose Room. New parents are welcome to attend. Yr 6 Shakespeare - Due to the Year 6 Students being away on school camp next week, Shakespeare practice has been changed. Students will be practising this Thursday 20th, Friday 21st and Monday 24th April from 11.00am 3.00pm at the Mechanics Hall. The whole school will be attending the Shakespeare performance on Wednesday 3rd of May. School Uniform - The first two weeks of term 2 is a transition period for the winter uniform. The summer uniform can still be worn during this period if the weather continues to be warm. Students in Prep, One and Two are to wear their sports uniform on a Tuesday and Friday. Students in Year three, four, five and six wear their sports uniform on Thursday and Friday. Boys are to wear black lace up leather shoes or black boots with their summer/ winter uniform. Girls are to wear black lace up leather shoes or black T-Bar leather shoes. Black sneakers are not permitted. If you have any concern please contact me. ANZAC Day Next Tuesday 25th March is ANZAC Day, a public holiday. The Stratford RSL have invited our staff, parents and students to attend the Anzac Day March and wreath laying ceremony. Light refreshments will be served in the RSL Hall after the ceremony. The March commences at 9.00am from the corner of Tyers and Blackburn Street to Memorial Park. Students are to wear the full winter uniform and are asked to be at the BP service station between 8.30am. Year 5-6 Camp - Gelantipy Next week, students in Year 5-6 will be on school camp from Wednesday 26th April until Friday 28th April. The camp is held at Karoondah Park, Gelantipy. Students get to experience a variety of activities and are designed to develop self confidence and team work. Rose Lee, Mary Wilson, Kylie Pendergast and myself will be attending camp. Cross Country Thursday 4th May St Patrick's Cross Country will be held on Thursday 4th May at the Stratford Knob Reserve. More details about this event will be sent home next week. Open Day - Wednesday 17th May St Patrick's School Open Day will be held on Wednesday 17th of May. All families and prospective parents who are looking to enroll their child at St Patrick s for 2018 are invited to attend. The day will commence with a Presentation from the Principal followed by a guided tour of the school. Open Day will commence at 9.00am. School Arrival Times: Please note, bus children arrive at school from 8.20am. Supervision for non bus travellers commences at 8.30am. We appreciate your cooperation in adhering to these times.
