PAPER 2 LISTENING This is the Key English Test. Paper 2. Listening. Mock Test. There are five parts to the Listening Paper. Parts One, Two, Three, Four and Five. Look at the instructions for Part One. You will hear five short conversations. You will hear each conversation twice. There is one question for each conversation. For questions 1-5, put a tick near the right answer. Here is an example: What time is it? WOMAN: Excuse me, can you tell me the time? MAN: Yes, it s nine o clock. WOMAN: Thank you. MAN: You re welcome. The answer is nine o clock, so there is a tick in the box C. Now we are ready to start. Look at question one. PART 1 page 46 1A 2C 3A 4A 5C Question one: How does the man travel to London? MAN: I have to go to London next Tuesday and I don t want to drive. OLD MAN: Would you like to go by coach or train? MAN: That depends. How much does it cost by train? OLD MAN: It s more expensive than the coach. By coach it s only 13.00. MAN: Right. I ll go by coach then! Question two: When are John and Mary going on holiday? MARY: Darling. We really must go to the travel agency and book our holiday. JOHN: Yes. You re right. I m not going to tell you anymore. You can go and get the film from the video shop if you really want to know what happens. This is the end of Part Three. SARAH: 500! That s quite expensive. Anyway, I think I ll have to come round to your agency tomorrow so that I can discuss it in more detail with Mr Roberts. TRAVEL AGENT: What time do you intend to come? SARAH: At 12.00. TRAVEL AGENT: Okay. I ll tell Mr Roberts when he gets back. SARAH: Okay. Thank you very much. Goodbye. TRAVEL AGENT: Goodbye. There are classes every evening from 6.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. and you have to be over eighteen years old to attend them. We hold English and Spanish language classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6.30 to 8.30 in the evening for beginners and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8.00 to 9.30 for more advanced students. These classes cost 80 per person per month. We also run English literature classes for those of you who are interested. These are on Friday evenings from 7 o clock to 9 o clock and cost 35 per person per month. The maximum number of students per class is twelve. Assessment The task is achieved if both candidates are able to respond to the examiner s questions. Time About 5-6 minutes (including time to assimilate information).
