Click on the Module Title link to launch it directly. Note: Modules for the Shift Supervisor Program are in sequential order. You must complete a Module and take the Mastery Assessment before taking the next Module in sequence. Note: After completing all Modules in the Program, you will take a FINAL Mastery Assessment. Your TGM will also check off that you have completed the GSE and FSE as part of your Certification as a new Shift Supervisor. My Favorites: Not used for the Shift Supervisor Course. My Report: Displays a record of all of your Module activity. Your Learner Records Progress Report indicates the current status of Modules that you have completed or started. A Summary of My Report is shown on the Home Page. Friendly s News: Scrolling newsreel displays links to various topics relating to news and Modules. 6

My Plan Learning Event (QSC Shift Planning and Readiness) If you are accessing a Module for the first time, click the Module title link to view its Summary Page. This Page shows: an Overview/Description, Target Audience, Expected Duration, and Lesson Objective(s). To start the Module, click Play. 7

Course Introduction It will take a few seconds for the Module to load. Once the Module has loaded, you will see and hear a Course Introduction. Click On Menu Menu When you click on Menu, you will see the Lessons in each Module on the left, and the Topic Selections in each Lesson on the right. Next to each topic, you will see how far you have progressed in each Lesson/Topic Selection (i.e. Not Started, Started and Incomplete, or Completed - with a bar showing how much you have completed). In the example below, we have completed the Course Overview and Pre-Shift Lesson Introduction, and we are in the process of completing Getting Started. 8

Job Aids Click On Job Aids When you click on Job Aids, you will see the Job Aids available for this Module. When you click on the Job Aid, you will see a PDF file that you can review and print out. Click on Position DOPs and you will find a PDF of all DOPs. In this example, we re showing Custodial Daily Operating Procedures. These Job Aids are used as reference for completing a Module. 9

Help If you need help to navigate through the Course, click on Help. The Help screen will show you how to navigate through a Module, and explains Job Aids, the Menu and Screen Counter. 10

You will see more about how to navigate when you complete the Overview Service-The Friendly s Way! Module. Note Some pages have a Note or extra details/information about the topic you are learning. Click On Note 11

When you click on Note, here is an example of more information you will learn about using the Walk- Through Guide. Knowledge Checks There are knowledge checks at the end of every Topic to test your knowledge of what you have learned so far. In this example, to answer the question, you would select all answers that apply to this question. Some questions require one answer. Some questions, like this one, require multiple selections to answer the question. To choose answers, click on each letter (i.e. A, B, C, D, E) that applies, and the letter will be highlighted. Then click the Done button to see how you did. In this example, we have chosen the correct answers. 12

Click on Close or Reset If you didn t get the right answer, click on Close and Reset to answer the question again. Or you can move on by clicking the blue arrow on the lower right side of the page. Mastery Assessment You must complete a Mastery Assessment at the end of each Module. The Mastery Assessment (10-12 questions) tests your knowledge of all material learned during the Module. A passing score is 80%. If you do not achieve an 80% score, you must take it again. However, every time you take the Mastery Assessment, the questions are randomized and your score will change to the last score you achieved. 13

Questions As you can see in the example below, the questions are similar to those in the Knowledge Checks. However, you are scored on your answers. You will have one opportunity to answer each question. Once you select an answer and click on Done, your answer will be recorded and scored. You will receive feedback if your answer was correct or incorrect, but you won t have an opportunity to answer the question again if you are incorrect. If you select an answer and wish to change it prior to clicking on Done, you can click on Reset to clear your initial answer and select again. My Report Once you have completed a Module and taken the Mastery Assessment, the Module will move from the Learning Event category to My Report. My Report displays a record all of your Module activity. Your Learner Records Progress Report indicates the current status of Modules that you have completed or started. A summary of My Report is shown on the Home Page. 14

Click on Take me to a summary view of report to see the status of the Modules you have started and completed. Note: You can also click on My Report in the Shortcuts Menu Bar. Date Range To Report On Use the date range filters to control the details displayed in My Report. In this example, we will choose December 1 st through January 27, 2009. Then click Submit. 15

Learner Records Progress Report This snapshot shows two Modules that have been completed, and the current score. It would also show if any other Modules have been started but not completed. Completed Modules can be accessed again by selecting a Course Title link from the Course Title column. Completed Modules can be sorted by selecting either the Course Title or Course ID column headers. Select the Print-friendly version link to view a list of your completed Modules in a separate, print-friendly window. Learning completions are the total number of Modules that you have completed. Modules are considered started until they have satisfied the Course Completion criteria. You can also access a completed Module again by selecting the GO> button from the Controls column. 16

To access a print friendly Learner Records Progress Report, click on the Progress Report icon. This is an example of a print friendly Learner Records Progress Report. Final Mastery Assessment Once you have finished all of the Modules, you will take a Final Mastery Assessment. This consists of 50 questions. They are based on material you learned in each Module. 80% is passing. 17

Guest Service Evaluation (GSE) When you have successfully completed the Guest Service Evaluation as part of your overall Shift Supervisor Certification Program Training, your Training General Manager (TGM) will direct you to log in and click on the Guest Service Evaluation under My Plan. Your TGM will then check that you have successfully completed the Friendly s Guest Service Evaluation with an 80% or better score. Food Safety Evaluation (FSE) When you have successfully completed the Food Safety Evaluation as part of your overall Shift Supervisor Certification Program Training, your Training General Manager (TGM) will direct you to log in and click on the Food Safety Evaluation under My Plan. Your TGM will then check that you have successfully completed the Friendly s Food Safety Evaluation with an 80% or better score. 18

This is a screen capture of the Evaluation we would like you to complete. 20

Advanced Reporting Module and Admin Tasks In this section, we will show you some basic reports that you can generate to track the progress of your management team. There are two ways to do this. You can access reports through the Advanced Reporting Module. You can also get more custom reports through Admin Tasks. We will start with the Advanced Reporting Module. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS SECTION ONLY PROVIDES AN OVERVIEW. ONCE YOU START USING THE ADVANCED REPORTING MODULE, YOU WILL LEARN MANY WAYS TO GENERATE REPORTS ON YOUR MANAGEMENT TEAM. To begin, click on Advanced Reporting Module. This will bring up the Advanced Reporting Module screen. To get a User Report, Click on User. 21

The next step is to set your Group. Click on select Group at right. You will see the following Drop Down Menu. 22

Select Friendly s. Then select Corporate-01. For an example, to select a restaurant in Region 4, select Region 4, the District you want to see, and the Restaurant in Region 4. If you are a DM, you will only be able to see the progress of restaurants/people in your district. If you are a GM, you will only be able to see the progress of people in your restaurant. Then click on Set Group Filter. When you select the restaurant you want, it will now show up in the select group box. 23

The next step is to choose your Date Range at the right. Then click on Generate Report. This will show you the number of Courses Accessed and Courses Completed. We put a blue box over the names to protect the identity of the individuals. You can click on Printable View on the top right to get a printable view of the Report. 24

To drill down and see the progress of individual users, one way to do this is to click on the person s name. We put a blue box to protect the person s identity. Then click on Transcripts and you will see the student s information for the Modules he/she has started and completed, including High Score and Last Score. See next page 25

Admin Tasks Another way to get to a variety of different reports is to click on the Admin Tasks Tab. This will bring up a Reports screen. Click on Reports in the left column or center to select the type of Report you would like to view. 26

Then click on Run Report to see the variety of Reports you can generate. You will also see that this is another way to get to the Advanced Reporting Module. As an example, to run a Custom Report, click on Custom Report. See next page 27

This shows only a portion of the screen you will see. You can select Specific Users and follow the instructions to identify other criteria you want in your search. When finished, click Submit (located at bottom). Then you would go back to your Reports tab and click on View Reports. 28

This will show you a list of the reports that you have run. Select the Report you want to view and click on the Report. Here is a Custom Report for one student. We cut off the person s name in this screen capture to protect his/her identity. But this Report shows the same information about each Course we showed you in the Advanced Reporting Module (just in a different way). 29

If you have any issues on reports or if you experience any other problems, please contact: Can t Connect or PC Problem Call Friendly s Help Desk 1-413-543-4091. All Other Problems Resolved 24/7 1-866-SKIL-HELP (1-866-754-5435) 30
