The nomination form will be emailed to partner universities in February and August. Spring Semester : November 10 Fall Semester : May 10 Application deadline Nominated students should submit an application within in the deadline. Exchange for Spring Semester-October 1 to November 20 Exchange for Fall Semester-April 1 to May 18 Eligibility Exchange students must be nominated by the KIT s exchange partner university. Exchange students must be a full-time student in one of KIT s exchange partner universities and have completed at least 1 semester of study at home university. In dormitory cafeteria, only Korean food will be served (lots of pork and spicy food, no halal food). Kitchen for international students is available (need to pay 10,000KRW for deposit and access card) The fee for vacation can be changed Tuition Estimated costs for one semester stay Visa requirements Alien Registration Insurance requirements Health Check-up Orientation Exchange students pay tuition to their home institutions and tuition is waived at KIT The Estimated Budget for one semester (15 weeks) at the KIT is : Items Fee (USD) / Semester (Approx.) On-campus Housing $400 (No meal option) Living Expenses (Meal etc.) $400*4 months = $1,600 Student Insurance $60 Student support (Book, etc.) $300 Total $2360 Students need to obtain the D-2 Visa with the admission and invitation letter which will be issued by KIT. All students who stay in Korea for more than 90 days must apply for the alien registration card within 90 days of entry. It usually takes 3-4 weeks for the card to be issued. We request Health Insurance for exchanges students during staying in Korea. Students can purchase health insurance from their home countries, or they can purchase it through International Office at KIT. All students have been requested to submit the health and medical clearance form with their online applications as part of the required documents. According to government regulation, students from certain designated countries will need to get re-tested for tuberculosis at the district public health center in Korea upon arrival. The designated countries are: China, Sri Lanka, Russia, Uzbekistan, Thailand, Vietnam, India, Nepal, Indonesia, Pakistan, Mongolia, Bangladesh, the All international students are required to attend the orientation. During the orientation, important information such as academic schedule, alien registration, health insurance and tips for living in Korea will be introduced to prepare students for life in Korea. (Tentative) Orientation schedule - Spring 2018 semester : March 2, 2018 - Fall 2018 semester : September 3, 2018 Meals and Food Opening a bank account Voluntary Activity Students can buy various types of meals on and off-campus, and also cook some instant snacks in the shared kitchen of the dormitory. Students usually use the kitchen to cook noodles, toast, and small snacks or to keep their own food in the communal refrigerator. Normal meal prices range from 3,500 won to 5,000 won (approx. US$ 3~5) per meal. If students would like to open a bank account in Korea, they will need to bring an Alien card and a passport. One foreign student and one Korean student make a team - 3 -

Foreign student is to prepare lecture regarding one s own country s culture, language and any possible stories of home country to school kids (elementary school, middle schools or high schools located in Gumi and Gyeongbuk). Lecture can be lasting 60 mins to 90 mins. At least one time for a month. Each student will get paid some amount of allowance as a reward. Student will receive a certificate of volunteer by the end of semester. - 4 -
