I Preliminary/Institution Round (Before 7 th October 2017): Head of the Institution Should select the date, Time and topic for competition and the same should be informed to participants at least three days prior to the competition. Head of the Institution can appoint three judges amongst the teaching staff / Fellow pharmacists from local region. Only the First place Winner of the preliminary round will be entitled to contest in the respective state round competition. No expenses will be paid for the Preliminary /Institution Round. II. State Round (during 15 th to 22 nd October 2017): Only the First place Winners of the preliminary round are eligible. Topic will be sent to you shortly. The date, timing, duration & Venue will be intimated by the State Coordinator. Three judges to be appointed by the State Coordinator of the respective state. Participants of this State round competition will be paid to and fro II class sleeper train fare / bus fare from the place of study to place of competition plus sum of Rs. 150/- as incidental expenses*. The expenses going to incur will be borne by the organisers of State Round if any or by State Coordinator Two Prizes for State Round:(a) 1 st Place: Certificate + Rs. 1000/- cash award. (b) 2 nd Place: Certificate + Rs. 750/- cash award. III. Semi-final Round (during 18 th to 25 th November 2017): Topic will be finalised by CEC. Only the First & Second place Winner of the State round is eligible. The exact date, time, Venue and Topic will be intimated by the Convener, NEC-2017. No Prizes for Semi-Final Round. First Six place winners of the semi-final round will be eligible to compete in the final round. Participants of the competition will be paid to and fro II class Sleeper train fare / Bus fare from the place of study to place of competition plus sum of Rs. 350/- as incidental expenses*. The expenses going to incur will be borne by the organisers of Semi Final Round if any or by National Coordinator of NEC-2017 from the Budget allotted. IV. Final Round: Topic will be finalised by CEC of IPA. During 69 th IPC at Chitkara University, Chandigarh. Exact date, timing & duration will be intimated by the Convener, NEC-2017. First Six place winners of the semi-final round are eligible. Three Prizes for Final Round: a) 1 st Place: Memento + Certificate + Rs. 20000/- cash award. b) 2 nd Place: Memento + Certificate +Rs. 10000/- cash award. c) 3 rd Place: Memento + Certificate +Rs. 5000/- cash award. d) 4 to 6 th participants: Certificate + Rs. 2500 cash award each. Participants of the Final round competition will be paid to and fro II class sleeper train fare / bus fare from the place of study to place of competition (Chandigarh ) plus sum of Rs. 750/- as incidental expenses. Dr. J.Vijaya Ratna, Convener, NEC 2017 MAIN FEATURES AND GUIDELINES 1. Aim: The aim of the Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) is to create a platform for the students to express their views freely and also gain a lot of exposure to the wisdom of the co participants. This Endeavour of IPA would certainly go a long way in inculcating the spirit of pharmacy profession right from their student hood. 2. Eligibility: The participants shall be students of B. Pharmacy (Final year), M. Pharmacy (1 st & 2 nd year), and Pharm.D (4 th, 5 th & 6 th Year) for the academic year 2017-18, who are Life members of IPA / Student members of IPA. 3. Competition: The competition is divided into four rounds: 4. Judges: i. Preliminary Round Duration and timing will be fixed by the head of the institution ii. State Round Duration and timing will be fixed by the State Coordinator iii. Semi-final Round Duration and timing will be fixed by the Convener, NEC-2017 iv. Final Round - Duration and timing will be fixed by the Convener, NEC-2017 i. Preliminary Round: Three judges amongst the teaching staff to be appointed by the Head of the Institution where the competition is being conducted. ii. State Round: Three judges to be appointed by the State Coordinator of the respective state where the competition is to be conducted. iii. Semi-Final Round: Five judges to be appointed by the Convener, NEC-2017 in consultation with IPA Education Division. iv. Final Round: Five judges to be appointed by the Convener, NEC-2017 in consultation with IPA Education Division. 5. Selection of Topic for the competition : 1. Preliminary Round: The Head of the Institution will select the topic for competition and the same should be given to participants at least two days prior to the competition. 2. State Round: "Know about your Medicines; Ask your Pharmacist" 3. Semi-Final Round: Will be informed in due course 4. Final Round: Will be intimated to the Winners during the Semi Final round.

6. Time Schedule: NATIONAL ELOCUTION COMPETITION 2017 i) Preliminary Round: ( Before 7 th October, 2017) The Preliminary Round results of the competition should be communicated by the Head of the Institution to the State Coordinator of the respective state and Convener, NEC-2017 in the attached Format B in duplicate (a soft copy of the Format-B should also be emailed to the Convener at vijaya.ratna@gmail.com so as to reach him before 22 nd September, 2017. ii) State Round: (During 15 th to 22 nd October 2017 as per convenience of State coordinator) The State Coordinator will communicate the list of participants in Format-C and results in Format D to the Convener, a soft copy of the results in the attached Format-D should also be emailed to the Convener at vijaya.ratna@gmail.com so as to reach on or before 30 th October 2017. iii) Semi-Final Round: ( During 18 th to 25 th November, 2017 as per convenience of NEC convenor) The Convener will communicate the venue, date and time of the semi-final round to the state round winners on or before 30.11.2017. iv)final Round: During 69 th IPC at Chitkara University on 23 rd December 2017 The exact date & time of final round will be informed to the winners of Semi-Final round during Semifinals. 7. Expenses i. No expenses will be paid for the Preliminary Round and state round organizers. The host organization has to use its own funds and in turn can advertise its name in certificates. ii. Participants of the State round competition will be paid to and fro II class sleeper fare / bus fare from the City / Town of studying to where State round competition is being held and in addition, he/she will be paid a sum of Rs. 150/- as incidental expenses. The participants will not be entitled to any other expenses. (Original Tickets of Travel has to be produced.). iii. Participants of the Semi-Final round competition will be paid to and fro II class Sleeper fare(train) / bus fare from the City / Town of studying to where Semi-Final Round is being held and in addition, he/she will be paid a sum of Rs. 350/- as incidental expenses. The participants will not be entitled to any other expenses. (Original Tickets of Travel has to be produced.) iv. Participants of the Final round competition will be paid to and fro II class sleeper train fare / bus fare from the City / Town of studying to where Final Round is to be held (Chitkara) and in addition, he/she will be paid a sum of Rs. 750/- as incidental expenses. The participants will not be entitled to any other expenses (Original Tickets of Travel has to be produced). V. While claiming for expenses a signed voucher duly countersigned by the Head of the Institution or State Coordinator will have to be sent to the convener NEC - 2017 within 10 days of completion of the competition and only the permissible amount will be reimbursed.

8. Prizes: I. Two Prizes for State Round: (a) 1 st Place: Certificate + Rs. 1000/- cash award. (b) 2 nd Place: Certificate + Rs. 750/- cash award. II. No Prizes for Semi-Final Round: III. Prizes for Final Round: Best six Participants will be selected for final round. Other participants will get Certificate+ Memento Note: (a) 1 st Place: Memento + Certificate + Rs. 20000/- cash award. (b) 2 nd Place: Memento + Certificate +Rs. 10000/- cash award. (c) 3 rd Place: Memento + Certificate +Rs. 5000/- cash award. (d) 4 to 6 th Place:Memonto+ Certificate + Rs, 2500 cash award each. 1. Decision of the judges/state coordinator/national Convener will be final and binding. The names of the judges should be communicated to the Convener-2016 by the Head of the Institution or the State Coordinator as the case may be. 2. Only the First place Winner of the preliminary round will be entitled to contest in the respective state round competition. 3. Principals/Head of the Institution of the participating colleges should be in contact with the respective state coordinators to know the venue, date & timing of the state round competition. 4. Only the First & Second place Winner of the State round will be eligible for contesting in the Semi-Final round competition. 5. First Six place winners of the semi-final round will be eligible to compete in the final round at 69 th IPC to be held at Chitkara University during 23 rd December 2017. 6. Changes if any will be communicated by the Convener in advance. 8. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Convener will be final and binding.
