MASTER COURSE IN TRANSPORTATION AND CAR DESIGN The Master starts on Monday 20 October 2014 and will finish December 2015. The annual didactic schedule demands full time commitment and includes a total amount of 1500 hours including lessons (lectures, workshops, practice), individual study, teamwork and final research project. The teaching included in the study programme refers to the following areas* of academic study: Transportation Design laboratories Digital modelling Colour and Trim Sketching Modelling workshop History and culture of automotive design *(The names of the above areas of academic study do not coincide with those of the individual teaching programmes, and they have the sole objective of identifying the competences representing the subjects of the training). The Master in Transportation and Car Design will be held in English language. A limited number of front-loaded classes or lectures may be held in Italian language with simultaneous translation into English in order to grant the audience accuracy of expression of highly specialized content. Attendance is compulsory. The lessons will be held full time on weekdays from Mondays to Fridays, in accordance with the timetables, which will be handed out before the beginning of each semester and that may be subject to changes for organizational reasons. Regarding any matters not covered in this present enrolment form, the student must refer only and exclusively to the general conditions here attached and to the Rules and Regulations herewith which constitute an important and integral part of this form. Enrolment and payment details I, the undersigned apply for admission to Scuola Politecnica di Design and I guarantee I will be attending the aforementioned Master in Transportation and Car Design for one academic year from 20 October 2014. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF CONTRACT MASTER COURSE IN TRANSPORTATION AND CAR DESIGN 1. Enrolment Details Enrolment on the Master in Transportation and Car Design is carried out upon reception of the enrolment form (5 pages) duly completed, undersigned and addressed to: Scuola Politecnica di Design SPD srl, Academic Office, via Carlo Bo 7, 20143 Milan or via fax to n +39 02 21597613, by post to SPD, or by hand directly to the said office. The following must be enclosed with the enrolment form: - proof of payment of the first instalment - photocopy of a valid document of identification: photocopy of passport (pages with anagraphical details) or (EU citizen only) photocopy of ID card - photocopy of Degree Certificate or equivalent and of other relevant qualification recently obtained - original copy (duly stamped and signed) of the official Transcripts from the university/institution of provenance in English or accompanied by official translation in Italian - any other relevant documentation not submitted during the admission process Please note that upon arrival in Italy the student has to request the following documents to the competent authorities and give a photocopy to SPD Academic Office: - Italian fiscal code - permesso di soggiorno (Permit to Stay) - visa issued by the Italian Embassy Consulate in the country of origin The contract will come into force when the enrolment certificate of the selected course is sent out by the Scuola Politecnica di Design to the student. The enrolment certificate will be sent by the Scuola Politecnica di Design to the student by means of registered mail, e-mail, as indicated by the student in the enrolment form, or via fax or to the address indicated in the enrolment form. 2. Terms of Payment of Master Fees The first instalment, which is valid as an enrolment fee, must necessarily be paid at the time of enrolment. The student must attach a copy of the payment receipt to the enrolment form. The enrolled student must then ensure that the remaining sum due for the Master in Transportation and Car Design is paid in accordance with the conditions laid down in the enrolment form, which are an integral part of the present terms and conditions. Delayed payments will incur into a penalty fee as specified in the enrolment form. The non-payment of even a single instalment in accordance with the agreed due dates will entitle the School to immediately suspend the student from attending the lessons. The student will still be required to honour the contractual obligation regarding the payment of the entire course fees, and the School is entitled to immediately proceed with the collection of the entire sum owed to it. The total fees for the Master in Transportation and Car Design include lessons, exams during regular semestral sessions, and the use of the laboratories. They do not include: accommodation, food, transport, books, personal stationery and equipment, tickets to enter fairs and cultural events, make-up exam sessions when applicable and specific materials that lecturers might require the students to buy or that will be needed for the refinement of mock-ups and presentation tools as well as anything not expressly specified in the present Contract. 3. Conditions of Withdrawal from the Master in Transportation and Car Design The possible withdrawal by an enrolled student must be sent in writing by registered mail with advice of receipt not later than July 1 st 2014. The date of delivery of the registered letter to the head office of the Institute will be legally binding. In case of withdrawal, within the compulsory time stipulated above, the entire fee paid by the student will be refunded, with exception to 400.00 + VAT which will be deducted to cover administrative costs. In the case whereby the student has enrolled on the selected Master in Transportation and Car Design after the date of July 1 st 2014, or communicates the withdrawal after the above date, the right to a total or partial refund of the fees paid no longer applies. This is also true if it is impossible for the student to attend. It should be noted that failure to attend does not give the student the right to receive a refund of the paid fees or to withhold further payments on the agreed dates. Enrolment after July 1 st 2014 does not permit the student to terminate the Contract and, therefore, the student must pay the entire fees for the Master in Transportation and Car Design. 4. Obligations in case of Non-Attendance or Withdrawal from the Master If a student fails to attend at the beginning of the Master or withdraws at a later date, they will be liable to pay the entire fees to the Scuola Politecnica di Design srl, as set out in the terms of payment, also in consideration of the administrative, registration and teaching costs that the la Scuola Politecnica di Design has incurred for the organization of the Master selected by the student. 5. Attendance and Awarding of Master Diploma Certificate The attendance of lessons is obligatory. The student is allowed a maximum number of absences equivalent to 20% of the total hours of each semestral course forming part of the selected Master. In the event the attendance to a semestral course is below the acceptable minimum of 80% of total class hours, the exam grade achieved by the student will be affected negatively to a failing grade of NC Not Completed and will be modified as such in the official reporting of grades (semestral mark sheet). Attendance is registered in the electronic record by the tutor at the beginning of each class. In case of arriving late to the lessons, after 15 minutes the student will be registered as absent for the entire class. The Office of Didactic Affairs will send students via email a detailed monthly attendance report. In case the student does not receive the said email message at the beginning of the following month, it is his/her responsibility to request the hardcopy of the report from the Office of Didactic Affairs. At the end of the selected Master, the student who has attended the teaching programmes included in the annual didactic schedule with satisfactory results, who has carried out the final research project and has passed the Master Exam, will obtain the SPD Master Diploma Certificate for the selected course. The students who fail to comply with the attendance policy of the school and/or reported an unsatisfactory performance not having passed one or more semestral courses, will not be admitted to the Master Exam. Furthermore, any student who has outstanding fees as at the date of the exam, will be unregistered and prohibited from sitting for the exam. Consequently, the school will not award any Master Diploma Certificate and the student will have no right whatsoever in this regard. 6. Programme Changes For any reasons of a didactic or organisational nature, Scuola Politecnica di Design SPD srl, reserves the exclusive and final right to make any updates and/or partial modifications to the course content, to the place or the timetable planned for the Master/term, after giving reasonable notice in writing by e-mail, via fax or ordinary post. In any case, the above modifications or variations will not give rise to any substantial modifications to the objectives of the individual courses. 7. Safety Norms The student must strictly adhere to the Safety Regulation, as well as to the Academic Rules and Regulations in force inside the Institute, a copy of which is given to the student with this Contract, and which forms an integral part of the same. Scuola Politecnica di Design srl reserves the right to take civil or penal action against any individual who does not comply with the above. 8. General Provisions The general conditions of the present Contract may only be modified in writing and will become valid with the simple undersigning by the relevant Parties. 9. Competent Court Any controversy regarding the validity, interpretation, execution and/or termination of the contractual relationship between the School and the student, shall be exclusively submitted to the competent Court of Milan. Read, confirmed in every point and undersigned by acceptance. Under Article 1341 of the Civil Code I declare that I have examined the attached General Terms and Conditions and that I specifically assent to points: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 and 9. 4/5

Background information and requirement of consent for the use of personal information Under the terms of Decreto Legislativo n.196 of 30/6/2003 (Protection of persons and other subjects in relation to the use of personal information) we inform you that the identifying, personal and sensitive information which you have supplied us with is used for the purpose of carrying out the duties resulting from the contract of which this is part, as well as fulfilling the consequent duties imposed by laws, regulations and community rules. The refusal of the interested party to supply the personal information renders the fulfilment of the contract impossible. The use of your personal information will be done through paper, electronic and computerized means respecting the methods that the Privacy Code guarantees you. It remains understood that communication and its distribution will be carried out in fulfilment of the duties of the Law and that all the information gathered will be handled by representatives for its use and that it can be transferred to European Union countries and third party European Union countries for the purposes foreseen by the present contract. The rights of the interested party are set out in art. 7 of Decreto Legislativo n.196 of 30/6/2003. The owner of the right to the use is Scuola Politecnica di Design srl with its legal headquarters at via Carlo Bo 7, 20143, Milan. The signee confirms that all information given is in consent to the Privacy Law in that personal information will only be used by Scuola Politecnica di Design srl for scholastic and communication purposes The student as identified in enrolment, acknowledges to have received a copy of the Rules and Regulations document which forms an important and integral part of this contract.
