NOTE: Ms. Thompson graduated from University of Maine at Augusta with a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Early Childhood Education. She is currently employed as an Educational Technician at Agnes Gray Elementary School. 9. ACTION ON MINUTES: A. To see if the Board will vote to approve the minutes of the July 17, 2017 regular Board Meeting? 10. UNFINISHED BUSINESS: 11. NEW BUSINESS: A. To see if the Board will vote to approve the Superintendent s nomination of Jamey Martin as Assistant Principal at Guy E. Rowe Elementary School? NOTE: Ms. Martin holds a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Recreation Administration for Youth and Family from San Diego State University. She also holds a Masters Degree in Teaching and Learning from University of Southern Maine. Her work history includes teaching Grade 5, Gifted and Talented and Pre-School. She serves as Assistant Recreation Director for the Town of Lisbon. B. To see if the board will adjust the 2017-18 budget as authorized by voters in article 20 of the June 8, 2017 District Budget Meeting. NOTE: The Budget Committee will have a recommendation. C. To see if the board will accept a bid to install a Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning system (HVAC) at the Oxford Annex. NOTE: The funds for the installation of this equipment will come from the FY 18 amended local budget funds. The costs will be recovered through facility lease payments over a 4 year period. The Operations Committee will have a recommendation. E. To see if the Board will vote to enter executive session (pursuant to 1 M.R.S.A. 405(6)(B) to conduct a hearing to determine if a student should be expelled from the Oxford Hills School District? NOTE: This hearing is scheduled for approximately 8:00 p.m. By way of explanation, expulsion is an action to remove a student from school which can only be voted by the Board of Directors. Title 20-A, Chapter 101, Section 1001, 9: Students Expelled or Suspended:

"Following a proper investigation of a student's behavior and due process proceedings, if found necessary for the peace and usefulness of the school, they shall expel any student: a. who is deliberately disobedient or deliberately disorderly; b. for infractions of violence; c. who possesses on school property a firearm as defined in Title 17-A, section 2, subsection 120A, without permission of a school official; or d. who, with use of any other dangerous weapon as defined in Title 17-A, section 2, paragraph A, intentionally or knowingly causes injury or accompanies use of a weapon with a threat to cause injury; or e. who possesses, furnishes or trafficks in any scheduled drug as defined in Title 17-A, chapter 45."
