R.E. in St Patrick s Travelling Crib Memories. During the lead up to Christmas the school provided a travelling crib to help your children appreciate the true meaning of Christmas. Here are a selection of responses from around the school. When we got home from school we set up the travelling crib. We lit the candle and sang a Christmas Carol. After that we had a few minutes silence and said a prayer. We thought about how important Christmas is. The next morning we packed away the travelling crib and put it by the door to give to the next person. After we set up the travelling crib we went and talked about the journey Mary and Joseph made to Bethlehem. We spoke about what we should thank Jesus for. We should thank him for all my lovely friends, my family and all the food Jesus has given to us said Daisy. At bedtime we lit the candle and sang our song. When the travelling crib came to our house. We set it up, sang the song and read the prayer. Then we thought about the true meaning of Christmas. -- Class acts of worship this term: Y2 January 31 st 2:45 Y3 January 31 st 2:45 Y3/4 February 28 th 2:45 Y4 March 28 th 2:45 Y5 April 25 th 2:45 During Advent our School Choir sang Christmas Carols for mem-

St Patrick s news! JEWELLERY For safety reasons the school rule is that children do not wear jewellery of any kind. As a special concession we allow 2 weeks grace for the wearing of earring as children may need to keep them in, having had their ears pierced at the beginning of the school holidays. However, any earrings worn during these 2 weeks should be covered by plasters. After this time children will be asked to remove the earrings. INTERNET SAFETY Please monitor the use of the internet by your children. Facebook and YouTube etc have an age limit of 13 to have access to their sites, this is even if there is parental permission! Obviously they take the threat of abuse on the internet very seriously. Please ensure your children do not access these sites. EQUALITY St.Patrick s is committed to providing equal opportunities for all pupils, staff, parents and governors of the school. You can read a copy of our Equality Policy on the school web-site http://www.sbcschools.org.uk/stpatsff/ If you have any comments or suggestions please use the box provided.
