Features Overview CareerMap is a web based Learning Management System (LMS) used to manage and deliver training. The core user features of CareerMap allow students to participate in web-based training (WBT) and manage training events. WBT courses are generally self-paced, delivered through an Internet browser and can include audio, video, quizzes, and simulations. Training events are classroom or virtual classroom courses that occur outside of CareerMap and under the direction of an instructor or facilitator. All of these features are accessible through an Internet Browser. CareerMap will allow you to: View training reminders and announcements in the information console Manage your user profile Launch web-based training courses Manage training event registration View training and manage training in the elective catalog View your training transcripts and download certificates CareerMap s navigation system is organized to clearly indicate your current location within the LMS. Each page view consists of five menu levels as highlighted in Figure 1.1. The choices you make on the top level, Level 1, determines what options are displayed on level 2. This work flow continues as you navigate through the remaining two levels. Figure 1.1 (CareerMap Menu Levels) 4 TMS User Guide 2.0

Utilizing the Overview: Information Console The information console resides on the Learning Management Overview page and is an informational tool which provides the latest announcements, reminders, and a list of courses in progress. Announcements are messages created by administrators to provide important information to CareerMap users. These announcements are displayed in two categories, recent and permanent. Recent announcements will appear for a period of time that is defined by the administrator. Permanent announcements will remain until they are removed by an administrator. Only the announcement titles are displayed in the information console. Remaining details on each announcement can be viewed by clicking the information icon next to the announcement title. Reminders are generated by CareerMap based on the remaining time to complete a task or for an upcoming scheduled training event. Reminders for students appear when: A training assignment has not been completed and will expire A training event for which you have registered is approaching Courses in Progress is a list of recently accessed courses that can be launched from the My Courses & Curricula link.
