INFORMATION Please take time to Read Fully Starting Times 9.00 for mornings and 1.30 for afternoons. PLEASE ARRIVE 30 minutes before the start of the exam, in order to register present on school premises and identify where your examination will be held. You will be advised of any adjustments to start time. Pre-Public Exams start at different times, please check the noticeboards for details. Exams Clashes If you have external exams which total more than 3 hours in one morning or afternoon session you will receive a letter with your examination entries detailing the arrangements which will be made. Exams totalling less than 3 hours in one session are timetabled by the awarding bodies to be taken one after another; you will not be allowed to leave the room between exams without supervision; in most instances the only break will be the time it takes to collect in and hand out papers. Location of Exams The majority of exams will be held in the Sports Hall, Main Hall and the Gym, the seating plan for which will be displayed daily on the noticeboard outside the exams office on the main corridor. Seating Plans These consist of a system of numbered and lettered columns and rows in the room please check this out before your exam. Your seat will not be the same for each exam. You must sit in the seat which has been allocated to you. If someone else is in your seat TELL THE INVIGILATOR Candidate Number You must know your candidate number as seating plan lists will be in candidate number order.

Equipment Equipment of standard nature should be brought to the examination (e.g. BLACK pen, pencil, ruler, pencil sharpener, eraser and where required, protractor and/or a calculator). Where exams require other items (e.g. coloured pencils), these should be brought along by the student. NO FOOD OR DRINKS allowed only bottled water in clear bottles with no labels. Mobile Phones & other Web-Enabled Devices (Including WATCHES) are Not Allowed The penalties for having a web-enabled device on your person during an exam can be heavy, e.g. disqualification from the exam or even all exams in that series. BAGS/COATS must be left in the place designated on the noticeboard outside the exams office on the main corridor. A Five Minute Warning A warning will NOT be given; you will need to keep an eye on the time yourself to see when the exam is due to end. This is in line with awarding body regulations. Conduct in the Exam Room You must be silent at all times when in the exam room, including while entering and leaving; there will be occasions when you are leaving and others are still working BE CONSIDERATE. If you need assistance, for whatever reason, put your hand up clearly and wait for an invigilator to attend to you. You will NOT be allowed to leave early if you have finished an exam as this disturbs other candidates in the room. School Buses Be aware that buses will leave at the normal time in the afternoon. If your exam finishes later than the end of the school day you will need to make alternative arrangements to get home. YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE EXAM EARLY TO CATCH A BUS.

Illness If you are ill on the day of the examination, you should try to sit the exam if possible. If you do but feel your performance has been affected and would like to ask the awarding body for special consideration, a self-certification document is available online or from the Exams Office, once completed this must be given to Mrs Short in the Exams Office within 3 days of the exam which has been missed or sat under difficult conditions, together with a brief summary of the problem and how you have been affected. If you are too ill to take the exam you should ring the Exam Office on 01723 362301 to notify the school of your absence and ask for advice on how to proceed. For further information and guidelines please see the Examination Guidance for Parents & Students booklet and Information for Candidates notice which are available online from the school website. Unique Learner Number You have been issued with a unique learner number; this will appear on your statement of entry and your timetable. This number will be your means of obtaining details of your qualifications later in life, it is important that you know how to access the information linked to it. Further information is in the Examination Guidance for Parents & Students booklet available online from the school website. It is important that you read this document as it contains information on how to access your qualifications and provide proof to Further Education Providers and Employers in the future. o o

IN CASE OF QUERY CONTACT THE EXAMINATIONS OFFICE ON 01723 362301 AND IF NECESSARY LEAVE A MESSAGE GIVING AS MUCH INFORMATION AS YOU CAN IT MAY BE NECESSARY TO RING YOU BACK LATER IF THE EXAMINATIONS MANAGER IS BUSY WITH EXAMINATIONS o
