Steps for the Southeast Area Technical High School (SEA-Tech) Application Process 1. Contact your 8th grade school counselor. Let your counselor know that you are interested in completing an application for SEA-Tech. This can be done at home, online or on a printed paper copy. If you need computer access at school to complete the application, please ask your counselor to assist you. You must submit a recommendation form to your counselor or a teacher as part of your application process (see Part D, page 6 of the application). 2. Complete the application (using a pen, blue or black ink). The application must be completed with student and parent information. Students will also be asked to complete the Career Goal Essay: Type or Write your essay (250-300 words or less) on the following: What is your career goal and how do you feel applying to Southeast Technical High School will help you accomplish your goal? Students may want to type their essay ahead of time and then copy/paste it into the essay field from your Google drive or a flash drive. 3. APPLICATION CHECKLIST: The counselor will begin collecting items for the Application Checklist, once you ve told him/her of your intent to apply to the school. The counselor will deliver this packet of information to the staff at Southeast Tech. Private School/Charter School Students - If you do not have a School Counselor, your School Administrator will be the one to communicate with regarding the Application Checklist. Homeschool Students - You will also need to submit items for the Application Checklist including available test score results, homeschool attendance data, and recommendations from homeschool instructors (online instructors, itinerant teachers, etc.). The completed application is due to your counselor no later than January 30, 2018. Students who submit a completed application (student/parent information, essay and a counselor/teacher recommendations) will be given a chance to interview with staff. Students will be notified by mail of their status (whether accepted, waitlisted or denied) in late March or early April. 1
