Save the Date in 2018 Friday, May 18: School Girls Day For registered schools Satuday, May 19: Careers for Women Day Free and open to everyone Special thanks to the NECA-IBEW Electrical Training Center and Local 48 Union Hall for hosting our event agin in 2018! Oregon Tradeswomen s Career Fair has made an impact: The number of women working in construction in Oregon and Washington is more than double the national average, but we can t take all the credit. The businesses, training centers, organizations, and other individuals who support our work in encouraging women and girls to consider career pathways in the trades share in this credit, and have our immense gratitude. Our Career Fair offers an unparallelled career exploration experience with dozens of handson workshops and activities designed to provide authentic learning experiences and opportunities to use tools and talk directly with tradeswomen about their careers. Oregon Tradeswomen has offered our annual Career Fair since 1993 in an effort to increase equity in the trades by introducing women and girls to apprenticeship and high-paying, highskill careers in the construction trades; career possibilities they might not otherwise learn about.
