Transfer Guide Lone Star College System & University of Houston-Downtown Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences in Safety Management 2012-2013 Catalog Students pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences degree in Safety Management agreement at the University of Houston-Downtown are strongly encouraged to complete an Associate degree before transferring to UHD. The Associate degree provides a solid foundation through the traditional liberal arts education, and Associate degree core curriculum courses taken at the Lone Star College System will transfer to UHD. Studies indicate students who complete an Associate degree are more likely to successfully complete a Bachelors degree.
