Level 1 students must be manually promoted o Mastery criteria of higher than 85% in 3 segments for promotion Use Classroom Report: READ 180 Reading Progress Report (History) o Run every 2 weeks to promote, demote, or keep students at same level to ensure success Mastery = Auto = Promotion (How students respond on first try) o 97% in Quick Check Questions o 97% in Word Zone Assessment o 97% in Spelling Zone Assessment o 96% in Levels 2 and 3 Mastery in each of the three zones the computer will automatically promote o Teacher can still promote from level 2 to 3 or from level 3 to 4 o Reading Progress Report: Class report to monitor software progress

Use SAM s Book Expert Online or go directly to website Book Expert Online Student can also search for a quiz by logging into SRC then entering author or title Do kids need to read books exactly at their lexile level or in a range 100L below and 50 L above? Yes. If students read too low they will not excel and if too high, they won t be able to read the quiz questions.
