Procedure 1. Home Page In this lesson, you will learn how to add an Assignment to a Course from Gradebook Setup. We will enter an Assignment for our Science class. The Assignment will affect the students' Report Card marks, but not be attached to a Competency at this time. 3. Click Setup link label. TAC_Elem_New_Assignment.udc 3/23

11. Click day. 12. Click Category Combo. Each Assignment may be attached to one Category, such as Homework or Tests. Categories are then averaged together to provide a Report Card mark. TAC_Elem_New_Assignment.udc 9/23

When averages are determined, the weight is multiplied against both the earned points score and the total number of possible points. If the Category allows the dropping of a lowest score, you can prevent the score of this Assignment from being dropped by checking the checkbox. TAC_Elem_New_Assignment.udc 13/23
19. Click Publish control. To have the Assignment available in Home Access Center, click the Publish oval one time. Click the oval a second time and the scores will be published. TAC_Elem_New_Assignment.udc 14/23

After saving, the icons change. The pencil opens the Assignment for editing. The trash can deletes the Assignment. Once the Assignment is scored, it cannot be deleted, unless you remove all of the scores first. TAC_Elem_New_Assignment.udc 17/23
