Edit Course in the LHub 1. Log into LearningHub.phsa.ca 2. Select Course Manager > Manage Courses 3. Select the Course 4. Click Edit Course > Fill in Learning Objectives, Contact Name and Email, etc. Update Summary in the OLC 1. Click Start Course to go to Course shell in the OLC 3. Click pencil icon to Update Summary 4. Uncheck Default section name 5. Section name > Enter Course Name 6. Summary > Enter the Mandatory Learning Activities required to complete the course 7. Click Save changes Add/Remove Numbered Sections To increase or decrease the number of sections In the Setting block > Course administration > select Edit Settings 1. Change Number of weeks/topics 2. Click Save changes Mandatory Learning Activities As you create your course keep in mind: Every course needs at least one (1) Mandatory learning activity for the course to complete and appear on the learner s Learning History. A learning activity can be a viewing a hyperlink or file; completing a module or getting a passing grade on a quiz. Not every learning activity needs to be mandatory, they can be left optional. Hyperlinks Consider putting reference materials and other resources in the Course Outline as a hyperlink or file Set for Learning Object 1. In the OLC > Course Outline > Click Turn editing on 2. Select Add a resource > URL 3. Enter Name 4. Content > External URL paste URL 5. Options > Display > Select In frame 6. Enter ID number 7. Set Activity completion > = 8. Require view > Select Student must view activity to complete it 9. Click Save and return to course Set if Mandatory 1. Activities Completed > Select Mandatory links 2. Click Save changes > Continue Files Word, PDF, etc. Set for Learning Object 2. Select Add a resource > File 3. Enter Name & copy name into Description 4. Select files > Click Add 5. Browse > Select file > Open Note: There must be no spaces in name of document 6. Click Upload this file 7. Options > Display > Select In pop-up 8. Enter ID number 9. Set Activity completion > = 10. To add subsequent pages > Click icon Add new Chapter Icons Move page up, Move page down, Edit page, Delete page, Hide page, Add new page OLC Quiz Add OLC Quiz activity 1. Select Add an activity > Quiz 2. Enter Name = Quiz 1 Include text (Mandatory) if required 3. Ensure Attempts allowed = Unlimited 4. Ensure Grading hod = Highest grade 5. Select New page 6. Review options can you set defaults 7. Enter ID number- do we need ID numbers for LHub? Better if we don t need them 8. Overall Feedback > Enter Passing Feedback = Congratulations! You passed. 9. Enter Grade boundary = % Passing score 10. Enter Non-Pass Feedback = You did not pass. Please retake the quiz until you achieve a passing score. 11. Enter ID number 12. Set Activity completion > = 13. Require view > Select Student must receive a grade to complete this activity 14. Click Save and return to course 3. Controls row > Select Update in object column 4. Enter Grade to pass = % 5. Click Save changes Set if Mandatory 1. Aggregation hod = All 2. Activities Completed > Select Quiz 3. Select Multiple Choice > Click Next 4. Select Category = Default for Quiz 5. Choose a question type to add 6. Click Next 7. Select Category = Default for Quiz 8. Enter Question name 9. Enter Question text 10. Enter General Feedback (or Choice feedback or Combined feedback) 11. Select One or multiple answers If One answer only = Grade is 100% or None 12. Select Number the choices > No numbering 13. Enter Choice 1 > Answer 14. Select Grade the positive grades must add up to 100% 2. Select Category = Default for Quiz 3. Select Multiple Choice > Click Next 4. Enter Question name 5. Enter Question text 6. Enter Questions and Answers - You must provide at least two questions and three answers. You can provide extra wrong answers by giving an answer with a blank question. Change Order and paging 1. Change question weighting 2. Click arrows to change order Preview Quiz For easier editing, preview quiz instead of attempting it. If you attempt quiz, you will need to delete attempts before you can edit 1. Settings block > Select Preview Quiz 2. Edit questions if needed Edit a quiz (that has been attempted) 1. Click on the quiz as if you were going to take it 2. Click on Attempts 3. Select user or Select all 4. Delete selected attempts If one answer Select Grade for correct answer > Grade = 100% Incorrect answer > Grade = none If multiple answers 1. Select Grade for correct answer = 100%/# of correct answers 2. Add penalty for incorrect answer > Select Grade for correct answer = - 100%/# of answers 15. Viewing Learner Activity/Results Course Completion Reports T o view Mandatory activity completions and Course completion for learner 1. Click on Course link in breadcrumb at top of OLC Navigation block > My courses > Expand Course 2. Reports > Select Course Completion 3. Select letter of First name or Last name to find learner These details are passed back to Details in the LearningHub. 1. Select My Courses from the OLC 2. Select Course Manager > Manager Courses 3. Select Course 4. Select Learner 5. Course Grades tab displays completions of Mandatory Activities for the learner Learning Object Completion Reports To see specific learning object activity for learner 1. Click on Course link in breadcrumb at top of OLC 2. Select Learning object from course page 3. Select Reports tab 4. Select on Attempt # 5. Select Track details to see Grade, Time spent on activity and the answers in the Value column Grader Report To see a Summary activity for learner for both Mandatory and Optional activities 6.
