If you are not comfortable with someone else s opinion, please address them in a respectful way 9. By being in this class, you understand that this class fits into your schedule. What is cheating? o Plagiarism happens when someone takes someone else s ideas and acts like they are his own. It is academic theft. It is wrong to take someone else s ideas and not explain where they come from. Plagiarism is a serious offense. The college has no tolerance for plagiarism, so if it happens, I will enforce these policies. If you are not sure if you are plagiarizing or need more information, please talk to me. You need to educate yourself on how to properly explain others ideas without making them look like they are yours. o Cheating- What is cheating? Cheating is looking at another person s test, talking during the test, looking at notes in your bag, getting the answer from your phone, taking pictures of the test, asking students in other classes what will be on the test, etc It using someone else or something else to help give you an advantage on the test. It is culturally unacceptable to cheat. Pierce College takes education very seriously. This is a 5-unit college level course that will be treated as such. If the workload in this class is too much, this might not be the best fit for you. Please know, I will report any suspicious behavior to the Dean of Student Services.
