Thus, the ability to communicate effectively in English is critical to making the most of not only the educational and job opportunities in Englishspeaking countries, but also to converse with others across the world.
Why Oxford? The beautiful and historical City of Oxford is one of the world s greatest and oldest intellectual hubs, housing two universities, state-of-the-art hospitals and several research and business centres. In particular, the University of Oxford founded in the early 12 th century is the oldest and one of the most prestigious educational establishments in the United Kingdom. Oxford has produced many of the world s leaders in science, politics, civil service and business. Several members of the Japanese imperial family, including Prince Naruhito (Merton), Prince Owada (Balliol), Prince Akishino (St John s), Prince Chichibu, (Magdalen), Prince Tomohito (Magdalen) and Princess Akiko (Merton) also studied at the University of Oxford. Oxford is not just a great seat for learning; its unique charm extends to its convenient and central location, easy access to London and international airports, historical buildings, excellent shops in the newly-built Westgate Centre and Bicester Village - one of Europe s largest designer outlets. So Oxford is a perfect place for an introduction to the world!
