International Development Office Rome, December 16 th, 2015 Call for Applications - Mobility 2016-17 Double Degree Program with EBS European Business School Department of Business and Management Department of Economics and Finance ONLY FOR LUISS APPLICANTS: Please note the APPLICATION needs to be completed through web self-service please also see HOW TO COMPLETE THE ONLINE APPLICATION This call is open to: LUISS students enrolled in the 3 rd year of the Bachelor s Degrees in Economics and Business or in Economia e Management in the academic year 2015-2016; LUISS graduates in Economics and Business or in Economia e Management who have not graduated before the Summer Graduation Session a. y. 2014-2015 (July 2015) and have not enrolled yet in the LUISS Master s Degree in Management; Students enrolled in the 3 rd year and Graduates (not graduated before the Summer Graduation Session a. y. 2014-2015) in the fields of Economics, Finance, Business and Management from other Universities, in compliance with the minimum curricular requirements indicated in the LUISS Admission Procedures for the Master s Degree in Management 1 1 Once received the applications the previous academic background of this category of applicants will be evaluated on a case by case basis. 1

GENERAL RULES LUISS has a Double Degree partnership with European Business School (EBS) in the field of Management at Master level, hereinafter referred to as DD EBS. Participating students will have the possibility to attend courses and take their respective exams both at LUISS and at EBS. If compliant with both universities rules and conditions, as for credits envisaged, attendance, deadlines, academic integrity, etc., participating students will receive two degrees, which will be issued according to each university s procedures. Selected students will spend abroad the 1 st year of their Master s Degree in Management, a. y. 2016-17. Students selected for the DD EBS will be registered at LUISS during their stay at the partner university. They will not be required to pay additional tuition fees to the partner university, but they will continue paying tuition fees to LUISS. All expenses related to the participation in the program, notably transport, accommodation and food, administrative expenses, expenses associated with securing a visa, medical/health/accident insurance, books and personal expenses, will be borne by students. Students taking part to this program could receive an Erasmus+ grant, depending on the European Commission annual fund for Erasmus+. Further information will be available in Summer 2016. Students attending the DD EBS are not allowed to request an official renounce of the registration in their LUISS career of converted grades of exams passed at the partner university during their mobility period. 2
B. COMPATIBILITY WITH OTHER INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS B.1. Compatibility with other Double Degree Programs Eligible students are allowed to apply to the Call for applications for the DD EBS and the Double Degree Programs with DDIM and DAUPHINE. Students can apply for the DD EBS, the DDIM and the DD DAUPHINE bearing in mind that a different timeline is set for each destination and that each university asks for different requirements, which means that selection criteria will differ (please see paragraph E. Application procedure). B.3. Compatibility with QTEM program Eligible students are allowed to apply to the Call for applications for the DD EBS and the QTEM program. Should they be selected and confirm their participation to QTEM within the established deadline, they will be automatically excluded from the DD EBS and other Double Degree programs they have applied for. If selected students do not confirm their participation to the QTEM program according to the rules explained in paragraph H. Acceptance, they will remain in the candidates list for the DD EBS. C. AVAILABLE SLOTS The total number of available slots for the a.y. 2016-2017 is 2. D. PRE-REQUIREMENTS The following will be considered eligible to participate to the DD EBS in the a. y. 2016-17: LUISS students enrolled in the 3rd year of the Bachelor s Degrees in Economics and Business or in Economia e Management in the a. y. 2015-16: who hold a weighted average grade equal to or above 26.50/30 at the end of the official extraordinary winter examination session a. y. 2015-16 (December 2015 - February 2016). Only for LUISS students taking part in an international mobility program (Erasmus, Exchange) during the 1st semester of the a. y. 2015-16 for whom the grades have not yet been registered into their student careers 2 : the average grade considered for this selection procedure will be the one prior to their departure for the mobility program. willing and able to register to the Master s Degree in Management (by completing the proper Student Office form and paying the first instalment) by May 26 th, 2016 and to enroll (by completing all remaining procedures) by July 2016 (date TBC). who will graduate by the Summer session of the a. y. 2015-16 (July 2016) with a final Degree grade equal to or above 100/110; 2 The registration of the exams taken during the mobility period depends primarily on the Partner universities timing. 3
who hold a GMAT/GRE certificate with a minimum score of 550 (or have passed the EBS ad hoc test organized at LUISS on February 1 st, 2016 at 10h00, room 402); who hold one of the following proficiency certificates of English language (only for Economia e Management students): TOEFL min. 100/120 (IBT version) slightly lower scores may be accepted by EBS; TOEIC min. 850; IELTS min. 6.5; ESOL CAE grade A (Certificate in Advanced English); CPE (Certificate of Proficiency English); EC 3, Higher (Business English Certificate); TELC Telc English C1. The mentioned certificates should not be older than two years. Graduates in LUISS Bachelor s Degrees in Economics and Business or in Economia e Management who hold a final Bachelor s Degree grade equal to or above 100/110, as a minimum requirement to access the Call, obtained not before the Summer Graduation Session A.Y. 2014-2015 (July 2015). who hold a weighted average grade equal to or above 26.50/30, prior to the defence of the Thesis. The weighted average grade (and not the final Degree grade) will be considered in the analysis of the students academic performance (please see paragraph F. Students enrolled in the 3 rd year of the Bachelor s Degree and Graduates from other Universities: enrolled or graduated in a Bachelor s Degree in the fields of Economics, Finance, Business and Management; in compliance with the Admission Procedure for LUISS Master s Degree Program in Management; in compliance with the pre-requirements indicated above for LUISS students and graduates in Economics and Business or in Economics and Management 4
Please note that EBS reserves the right to accept the students selected by LUISS. E. APPLICATION PROCEDURE The application deadline is February 15 th 2016 at 13.00. LUISS Students must complete the application form and upload the required attachments in the web self-service area of the LUISS website. LUISS students will be able to participate only if they are in regular time frame and have no pending administrative issues with LUISS. Non-LUISS students must hand in or send by regular mail the application form duly filled out and signed, with the required documents to the International Development Office of LUISS Guido Carli 3. Applications sent by regular mail must be received within the deadline of the Call and must be anticipated by pdf to the following email address: international@luiss.it. Only applications accompanied by all documentation and received by the application deadline will be considered. F. SELECTION An Academic Commission nominated by the Dean of the Department of Business and Management will select students on the basis of a non-disputable evaluation. The eligible candidates will be ranked after the analysis of their academic performance (credits, weighted average grade and English language proficiency, each weighting 50%, 30% and 20%). The academic performance will be calculated on the basis of the data available to the Student Office by the end of the winter examination session 2015-16. Candidates are responsible to check its accuracy in due time. Please note that the academic performance will not take into account credits for Other Activities (including internships), identified by the code SJ1. In case of ex-aequo, previous international mobility experiences, motivation letter and curriculum vitae will be considered. Only for LUISS students taking part in an international mobility program (Erasmus, Exchange) during the 1 st semester of the a. y. 2015-16 for whom the grades have not yet been registered into their student careers: the number of credits considered will take into account those obtained during the 1 st semester mobility period according to the documents provided in the online application (please see paragraph L. G. PUBLICATION OF RESULTS The selection results will be communicated by e-mail to the applicants by March 23 th, 2016 (TBC). H. ACCEPTANCE Selected students will be required to confirm their acceptance through written notification within one working day from the publication of results. In case of refusal or missing notification by the deadline, the following candidate in order of waiting list will be recalled. Recalled students will be required to confirm their participation by written notice within one working day. Every refusal received after the established deadline will be transferred to the Vice Rector for Teaching who will evaluate its motivations with the Dean of the Department and the Director of Teaching and Research, and will inform the Graduation Commission of those refusals deemed not properly motivated. I. ADDITIONAL POINTS The participation in this double degree program will provide additional points to the Final Grade of the Master s Degree, according to LUISS rules. J.
