Young Learners at Regent Scanbrit in Bournemouth At Regent we understand that knowing about English is not enough we aim to give our students the skills and confidence to successfully use English now and in their future lives. The Regent All English course creates a positive, inclusive community in which students are challenged to interact successfully in English. Teams Community Activities English Classes My Passion Active Session Performance Project Homework Each learner belongs to a team, the team can win points for successful activities, good behaviour etc. which creates a positive course dynamic. The morning assembly is a lively and energetic start to the day. In the evenings we arrange activities like Talent and Fashion shows, Scavenger Hunts and Casino nights etc. Small class sizes (max. 12). Students create a Personal Portfolio to record learning and achievements. They can also study for International Exams. In the interest based lessons students can explore their passions by learning about Sports or Performing Arts in English. This may include a debate about the Olympic Games or a study of a West End Musical. Students are grouped in the afternoon activities according to their passions. All English Study students have an active session in the afternoon filled with a variety of sports and activities. In small groups students produce a week long performance project which culminates in making a student film, a drama, debate etc. A homework session is held every day for exercises and revision. Our core values shine through our programmes: Positive We believe that everyone can learn to use English proficiently; we push each student to become an effective communicator. We create a positive, enjoyable environment praising effort and attitude and encouraging every individual to achieve their best. Inclusive Results focused On our group courses every student is in several different classes or teams. We arrange whole course activities so that students quickly feel part of the group, and can connect meaningfully with staff and other students Our courses are educationally-led and designed to ensure robust progress. A coaching session, daily homework and weekly tests help students to set goals and visualise progress. At the end of the course students receive a Certificate and progress report.
