+ Science 9/10 Honours Demonstrated high ability in Science 8 See your Science teacher to add your name to the request list Must have good work ethic. Course content will be covered quickly and homework needs to be completed to move ahead with the next concept. Most of the curriculum is grade 10. There are a few elements of Science 9 that may be covered by Mr. Stephenson (mini unit on astronomy). Ideal for students who want to pursue Science areas of study in University

+ Science 9/10 Honours cont. There is an emphasis on independent learning & application of computer technology. Students who successfully complete this accelerated program have the option to take Physics 11 & 12, and/or Chemistry 11 & 12, and/or Biology 11 & 12 in their next three years of study (Gr. 10,11,12). Some may also be encouraged to take AP Science courses to enhance their studies in university.

+ Language Challenge Exams For Students with a background in: Mandarin Korean French Japanese German Spanish Punjab You may apply to write a challenge exam to earn Language 11 or 12 credits Many post-secondary institutions (like UBC) do not use Challenge Exam scores in the calculation of your entrance average but will accept it as a Language 11 credit for admission

+ P.E 9 Opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in the following areas: Team sports such as football, rugby, basketball, soccer, and lacrosse. Fitness, health, and nutrition. All activities & sports offered in extracurricular program. Gymnastics, tennis, badminton, dance and weight training.

+ Summer Session (School) Registration begins after Spring Break for all summer courses - April 7th Remedial Courses run in for the month of July; 35% min for entry Full Credit Courses run July - August Math 8 is only offered as a Full Credit course in July If you take Math 9 as a new course you will be NOT be enrolled in Math 10 as of September it is a summary course to prepare you for Math 10 After you have registered for SD35 Summer school please fill out WGSS google form for course change request

To make course selections click on Select and then choose your course by clicking on the check box Click here to navigate to the next screen if you do not see the course(s) you are looking for.
