Tri-Valley Board of Education Agenda May 11, 2017 Board Members: Eddie Brock, Jennifer Cox, Terry Hutchison, Jason Schaumleffel, Russ Wagner Note: This is a meeting of the Board of Education for the purpose of conducting the School District s business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. There is a time for public participation during the meeting as indicated on the agenda. All cell phones should be turned off during board meetings. Citizens of the Tri-Valley School District and employees who wish to speak with the Board are requested to keep items presented as brief as possible. Items are limited to five minutes for presentation and five minutes for discussion. Please complete the appropriate form and give it to the treasurer for proper recognition. I. Treasurer s Report A. Approve the minutes from the Special meeting of March 30 th, 2017 and the Regular meeting of April 6 th, 2017 as presented. B. Approve the Financial Report for March 2017 as presented. C. Approve an advance of funds to the Fitness Center Fund (Fund #013) from the General Fund for the period of March 2017 in the amount of $2,655. 52. 1

Treasurer s Report Continued D. Approve the Five Year Forecast as presented. E. Approve participation in the 2017-18 Ohio Student Accident Insurance Program, administered by Student Protective Agency and offered through ALR Insurance Services, as presented. II. Personnel Report A. Certified: Internal changes beginning with the 2017-2018 school year: ~Lindsay Jenkins from MS Language Arts Instructor to HS Language Arts Instructor. ~Sarah Tippie from HS Special Intervention Instructor to Nashport Elementary Special Intervention Instructor 1. Accept the resignation of Danielle Rains, Language Arts Instructor at the High School at the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year. 2. Approve a one year limited contract to Tyler Shackelford, as 5 th grade Instructor at Adamsville Elementary for the 2017-2018 school year pending verification of all license requirements, background checks and years of experience calculations. B. Classified: Internal changes beginning with the 2017-2018 school year: ~Kim Prince, Dresden Elementary part-time Secretary, from 3.5 hours to 5.5 hours. 1. Accept the retirement request of Kenneth Riehl effective at the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year. Mr. Riehl has served Tri-Valley schools for 21 years. 2. Accept the retirement request of Pam Ankrom effective at the end of the day May 31, 2017. Mrs. Ankrom has served Tri-Valley schools for 20 years. 3. Approve a job status change for Jody Rodgers from 5.5 hr. Library Aide at Frazeysburg Elementary to a full time Library Aide at the Middle School beginning with the 2017-2018 school year. 2

Approve a job status change for Megan Newton from part-time secretary at Dresden Elementary to a full time secretary at Dresden Elementary beginning with the 2017-2018 school year. 5. Approve a job status change for Lou Awalt from a Special Educational Aide at Nashport Elementary to a Educational Aide at Nashport Elementary beginning with the 2017-2018 school year. 6. Approve a one year limited contract to Anne Slaboden, School Nurse, for the 2017-2018 school year. 7. Approve a two year limited contract to Seth Mason, Technology Technician for the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 school years. 8. Issue a one year limited contract to the following staff, effective for the 2017-2018 school year: Adamsville Dresden Jennifer Ault, 5.5 Spec.Ed.Aide Jaclyn Maclean, 5.5 Spec.Ed.Aide Candy Mallett, 5.5 Spec.Ed.Aide Frazeysburg Bonnie Hunt, 5.5 Educ.Aide Middle School Telly Warden, Cook High School Malorie Campbell, Cook Lisa McDonald, Cook Mark Breeden, Custodian Nashport Marjorie Dobson, Cook Misty Matheney, Cook Bus Garage Jennifer Edwards, Driver 9. Approve a 120 day continuing contract to Erin Welker as part-time High School Clerk beginning with the 2017-2018 school year. C. Supplemental 1. Approve the T.V.H.S. & M.S. Archery Team and their head coaches, to travel to Louisville, KY Thursday, May 11 th to compete in the National Archery Tournament on Friday, May 12 th, 2017. Transportation is not needed and volunteer archery coaches and parents will serve as chaperones. _ 2. Approve the following 2017 Summer School Instructors: Adamsville Elementary - Brenda Moran Dresden Elementary - Meghan Starrett Frazeysburg Elementary - Michelle Helms Nashport Elementary -Angela Berry 3. Amend the Supplemental contracts of the following staff members for the 2017-2018 school year: Cheryl Antill Dresden Elementary Building Technology Coordinator (previously approved as Building Technology Co-Coordinator) Kendra Roberts HS Student Council Advisor (previously approved as Student Council Co-Advisor) Brad Blair HS Yearbook Advisor (previously approved as Yearbook Co-Advisor) Melissa Smalley-Frazeysburg Elementary Yearbook Co-Advisor (previously listed as sole Advisor) 4

4. Issue a supplemental contract to Ellen Reed as Frazeysburg Yearbook Co-Advisor with Melissa Smalley for the 2017-2018 school year. 5. Accept the donation of $10,000. 00 from the Aileen S. Andrew Foundation (see attached) _ E. Accept the donation from Community Bank Community Pride Program for the amount of $181.00. _ F. Accept the donation from The Energy Cooperative for the amount of $300.00 to the TVMS. _ 5

Superintendent s Report Continued G. Approve the 2017-2018 Tri-Valley Band Handbook as presented. _ H. Approve the tentative agreement with the Tri-Valley Education Association. Agreement is effective July 1, 2017 June 30, 2020. _ I. Approve the Service Level Agreement with L.A.C.A. for the period of July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018 as presented. _ J. Approve the Service Provider Contract with L.A.C.A. for VOIP Service for the period of July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018 as presented. _ K. Approve to purchase food products, to include bakery and dairy, for the 2017-2018 school year as bid to the Ohio Mid-Eastern Regional Service Agency (OME-RESA) pursuant to Tri-Valley School Board Resolution #17-3 (K). _ IV.
