Background SEA-Teacher to provide opportunity for preservice student teachers among universities in Southeast Asia to do their practicum (teaching experiences) in schools in other countries in Southeast Asia.
Objectives 1 To enable pre-service student teachers to develop their teaching skills and pedagogy. 2 To encourage the pre-service student teachers to practice their English skills. 3 To allow the pre-service student teachers to gain a broader regional and world view.

SEA-Teacher Program Pre-Service Student Teacher Exchange in Southeast Asia
Insurance - Purchase insurance in advance for students. - Ex. affordable price is available via Bupa Insurance which cover international travel - Students themselves have to take care of this just in case sickness during the practicum period. Language Barrier - Students should aware and prepare for the circumstances where English is not well-spoken - Ex. in teaching and in communicating with the students. Health - Students should be informed to be responsible to prepare their own personal medicine just in case they are sick during the practicum period. - Can be included in the Orientation prior to travel.
Cultural Flexibility Students should be flexible and learn how to problem solve concerning food and pray time adjustment. Teaching Pedagogy - Prepare lesson plans in advance prior to travel. - Adjust later after classroom observation. This way, the students will have enough materials and document that they can use to suit the teaching. Mentor Open minded for school culture There is a need to strengthen the role of Mentor, so that the students have opportunity to improve and learn. - Each school has their own culture & practices. - Students need to be aware and accept the different.
English Skills - Students English skill (speaking) has improved after 1 month. - They have gain their confident and able to express their view openly after 1 month. Communication Channel - Information need to be provided regularly via social media (Line Group, Blog or email) - Update on the progress and it will help on the coordination between and among all parties. Success Factors The top 3 success factors are active mentor, supportive schools that the students do the practicum, and students teachers who have openminded and positive attitude to learn.
