About the Programme The Association of Accounting Technicians UK s leading qualification and membership body for accounting staff. With around 125,000 members in more than 90 countries, AAT members are represented at every level of the finance and accounting world, including students, employees and self-employed business owners. The AAT is a stepping stone for students wanting to achieve chartered status, and is sponsored by a number of professional accounting bodies including CIPFA, ICAEW, CIMA and ICAS. AAT members are ambitious, focused accounting professionals, many occupying senior, well rewarded positions with thousands of employers - from blue-chip corporate giants to public sector institutions. Eligibility criteria There are no formal entry requirements for the AAT Accounting Qualification, however, proficiency in English and Mathematics are encouraged. Students enrolling in BIBF s preparatory course are required to sit for AAT s skillcheck (a 30 minutes online test with a series of multiple-choice questions). Results are available immediately, along with the recommended level. Students with relevant backgrounds and/or accounting experience can begin from level 3 of the Accounting Qualification. The AAT Accounting Qualification The AAT Accounting Qualification is universally respected and internationally recognized. Many renowned organisations such as Sainsbury s, P&G and Morgan Stanley employ AAT qualified members for their knowledge, skills, diligence and high standards of professionalism. The AAT Qualification equips students with the necessary practical skills in financial and management accounting to follow a rewarding career in professional accountancy.

Synoptic assessments This is an exam which asks you to demonstrate your skills and knowledge across everything you have learnt so far, rather than just one unit at a time. These exams will be one per level, rather than one per paper, and the AAT will produce a tool to help you know when you should sit them.the Level 2 synoptic exams will be available most weeks, whereas Level 3 and 4 synoptic exams will only be available six times a year. Please visit your MyAAT account to view the synoptic exam windows. All exams are Computer Based, time limited and invigilated at AAT approved centres. The format can include a range of question types including multiple choice questions, numeric gapfill questions plus written answers. MAAT status Students who have completed the AAT Qualification can apply for full membership and obtain the MAAT status. This enables them to use the designatory letters MAAT after their name. In order to apply for full membership: Students must complete and pass all assessments of the AAT Qualification (level 3 and 4) Obtain one year of full time relevant accounting work experience (or the equivalent part time) Submit their personal, employer and professional referee details along with the full membership fee to the AAT Our services BIBF offers a comprehensive study programme and student support for the AAT Accounting Qualification. Tuition is available for all subjects of the qualification and covers review of the syllabus and practice exams. Once students are ready, they can sit for their unit / synoptic assessment at BIBF (an approved CBT center). The total duration of the programme is 15 months. All the UK chartered and certified accountancy bodies recognise the AAT Accounting Qualification, so you can receive exemptions from certain modules. A non-refundable application fee of BD 25/- is to be paid upon registration. 2. BIBF offers courses on the basis that there will be sufficient students to justify running it or else the course will be cancelled. 3. BIBF may modify the dates of the course should any unexpected/unavoidable circumstances arise. BIBF s liability in the event of any modification or cancellation will be limited to cover the full paid course fees. 4. No refund will be entertained unless the written request is received at least two weeks prior to the commencement of the course. However, BIBF will permit the nomination of a substitute candidate before the course starting date. 5. Students may withdraw from their studies at any time, either before or after the start of the course. Withdrawal requests should be submitted in writing to the Registrar. Students applying for withdrawal, two weeks from the course commencement date will be entitled to a 50% refund. No refunds will be made thereafter. 6. Deferral requests should be made in writing, two weeks from the course commencement date. No deferral requests will be entertained thereafter. Fees can be deferred for one session only, and course fees paid will not be refunded. Students are not allowed to attend a different course/subject for an approved deferral request. 7. Students should attend the full duration of the course as scheduled and strictly abide with the stated course timings. In the event of a student attending less than 80% of the total course hours, the student will be withdrawn from the course, marked as a Drop Out, and requested to re- register. For fee bearing courses, the total fees will be charged irrespective of the number of sessions attended. 8. BIBF reserves the right to change the fee structure without prior notice.
